Rutgers looks for first win against Penn State since 1988

Rutgers will look to snap a 15-game losing streak against No. 11 Penn State this weekend

Impact Cruickshank finished with season highs in yards and receptions while catching passes from Evan Simon (6-of-15 passing, 100 yards) and Noah Vedral (6-of-15 passing, 133 yards), who was listed as Rutgers' starting quarterback ahead of Friday's game. The senior wideout now sits far and away atop the Scarlet Knights' receiving corps this season, with 25 receptions (40 targets) for 243 yards and two touchdowns through six games in 2022. Cruickshank is also 12 receptions and just one receiving yard shy of the best single-season marks of his career, though it will be worth monitoring if Rutgers continues to use a platoon approach at quarterback this season.

Cruickshank has recorded team-highs in receptions (18), yards (156) and receiving touchdowns (two) over the first four weeks of the season, though he could be poised for more split receiving duties while playing alongside wideout Shameen Jones (five receptions, seven targets, 71 yards) and tight end Johnny Langan (four receptions, 10 targets, 48 yards) moving forward throughout Big Ten play.

Impact Cruickshank served as the primary target for the Scarlet Knights quarterbacks Saturday, receiving seven of the 15 passing attempts from Evan Simon (9-of-15 passing, 52 yards) and both of Gavin Wimsatt's (undisclosed) two passing attempts. However, the return specialist still saw the majority of his production come on short passes near the line of scrimmage, as his longest reception went for just eight yards. Through three weeks of the season, Cruickshank is the only Rutgers receiver with ten or more catches and over 100 yards receiving.
