Noah Short - Over 100 yards on the ground Short posted 11 rushes for 127 yards and caught three of four targets for 13 yards during Thursday's 28-6 defeat to East Carolina.
Impact Short was a bright spot in what was a tough night for the Black Knights. The San Jose native surpassed 100 yards rushing for the first time this season and the first time since September of 2024. He also now has 12 receptions on the year, which is the most on the team.
SEPTEMBER 26 • ROTOWIRE
Cale Hellums - Returns to backup quarterback Hellums was one for three passing for 13 yards during Thursday's 28-6 loss to East Carolina. He also had nine rushes for 42 yards.
Impact After starting the Black Knights' last two games, Hellums returned to the backup role this week with Dewayne Coleman healthy again following an undisclosed injury. The junior's snaps were limited, but he still carried the ball nine times, showing he will be part of the game plan every week.
SEPTEMBER 26 • ROTOWIRE
Dewayne Coleman - Rushing touchdown in loss Coleman was five of nine passing for 36 yards during Thursday's 28-6 defeat against East Carolina. He also had 22 rushes for 51 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Coleman earned the starting role back this week after being benched with an undisclosed injury following Week 1. The senior struggled to get anything going against East Carolina, only throwing for 36 yards and averaging 2.3 yards per carry. He has had a rushing touchdown in all three games he has appeared in.
SEPTEMBER 26 • ROTOWIRE
Jake Rendina - Week 5 includes five snaps Rendina (undisclosed) logged five snaps during the Army's 28-6 loss Thursday at East Carolina.
Impact Fortunately for Rendina, out during Week 4, he recently did not log another DNP on Thursday. As of Friday, his 2025's average yards per carry is 3.3. During 2024, Rendina recorded 3.6.

Katin Houser throws for 2 touchdowns and runs for another to lead East Carolina past Army 28-6

Katin Houser passed for 251 yards and two touchdowns, and East Carolina opened American Conference play with a 28-6 victory over defending league champion Army

Hayden Reed - Suited up Thursday Reed (undisclosed) is dressed and warmed up with the first team ahead of Thursday's game at East Carolina, Tony Morino of Army Football reports.
Impact Reed appears good to go for Thursday's contest after being considered questionable on the injury report due to an undisclosed injury. He is set to be used heavily in the conference contest.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Cale Hellums - Won't start vs. ECU Hellums isn't starting against East Carolina on Thursday night, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.
Impact Dewayne Coleman will get the starting nod in Week 5. Hellums started in Week 2 against Kansas State with Coleman unavailable, but has taken limited snaps since then and will again play second-fiddle to Coleman against the Pirates. He doesn't figure to see much action Thursday night.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Dewayne Coleman - Named starter for Thursday's game Coleman will start Thursday's game at East Carolina, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coleman, who began the season as a starter but was benched after an undisclosed injury, will be back at the helm of the Black Knights' offense Thursday. Across two appearances this season he has 230 passing yards and two touchdowns, adding 217 yards and two scores on the ground.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Jake Rendina - Officially deemed questionable Rendina (undisclosed) is listed as questionable for Army's tilt with East Carolina on Thursday night.
Impact Rendina was supposedly expected to play according to a report from the Times Herald-Record, but the tailback has been officially listed as questionable by Army and now looks to be a game-time decision. Rendina has just four carries for 13 yards this season.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Hayden Reed - Questionable vs. ECU Reed (undisclosed) is questionable for Army's clash with ECU on Thursday night.
Impact Reed has been heavily involved on the ground for Army, with the exception of the Kansas State game in Week 2 in which he logged only five carries. Still, the tailback has 211 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season, averaging 4.9 yards-per-carry. In Week 4, he gashed North Texas for 113 yards and a score despite the loss. Reed's absence would be a big blow to the Black Knights' backfield, and a litany of names including Noah Short and Briggs Bartosh would be next in line.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Jake Rendina - Slated to return Thursday night Rendina (undisclosed) is slated to return Thursday night versus East Carolina, per the Times Herald-Record.
Impact Rendina logged four carries for 14 yards through Army's first two games of the season. After sitting out Week 4 against North Texas, the tailback will return to action against East Carolina in the first game of Week 5. He figures to be a minor part of the offense, but his presence helps the Black Knights' running back depth.

Brady Anderson - Finds end zone in loss Anderson had one reception (on two targets) for 68 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-38 overtime loss against North Texas.
Impact Anderson only had one catch this week, but made the most of it, scoring for the second week in a row. The sophomore doesn't get many touches in what is a run-heavy offense, but does lead the Black Knights in receiving yards and touchdowns.
SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Briggs Bartosh - Records first touchdown of career Bartosh had eight rushes for 99 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-38 overtime loss against North Texas.
Impact Bartosh only had three carries on the season coming into this week, but broke out for the best performance of his young career, highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He is still the backup running back, and it is unknown if he will be able to maintain this production.
SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Hayden Reed - Rushing touchdown in loss Reed logged 19 carries for 113 yards and one touchdown and gathered in all two targets for two yards during Saturday's 45-38 overtime loss against North Texas.
Impact Reed found the end zone for the second time this season, while matching a season-high in carries. The senior also caught his first reception of the season Saturday, but it probably won't continue in what is always a very run-heavy offense.
SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Cale Hellums - Limited snaps in loss Hellums completed zero of two passes for zero yards and one interception during Saturday's 45-38 overtime defeat versus North Texas. He also had nine rushes for 23 yards.
Impact Although he was listed as the starter, Hellums' snap count decreased with Dewayne Coleman playing for the first time since Week 1. To make matters worse, Hellums recorded his first interception of the season and did not have much success on the ground, as it seems like he might be the backup moving forward.
SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Dewayne Coleman - Three touchdowns in return Coleman (undisclosed) was six of 11 passing for 101 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 45-38 overtime defeat to North Texas. He also had 23 rushes for 117 yards with one to...
Impact Coleman backed up Cale Hellums Saturday in his first appearance since Week 1, but got the majority of snaps, tallying three total touchdowns. The senior recorded his first passing touchdown since last September, and it will be interesting to see how Army manages the quarterback situation moving forward.
SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Liam Fortner - Records 28 snaps Fortner (undisclosed) logged 28 snaps during the Army's 45-38 loss Saturday against North Texas.
Impact Coincidentally, Fortner's most recent number of game snaps and 2024 yards equal. For the Army then, he logged 28 receiving yards using one reception, on three targets.

Hayden Reed - Active Week 4 Reed (undisclosed) is good to go ahead of Saturday's game against UNT, Black Knight Nation reports.
Impact Reed, who popped up on the Black Knights' injury report earlier this week, will be active during Army's Week 4 showdown with the Mean Green. The 6-foot senior has tallied 24 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown across two games this season. Reed projects to have a large share of Army's backfield rotation alongside Noah Short this week.
