Named starting quarterback Colandrea has been named Virginia's starting quarterback, per Jacquie Franciulli of 247Sports.com.

Impact Colandrea enters year two of his career with Virginia after tossing for 1,958 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 62.6 percent completion as a true freshman. He battled Tony Muskett for the job all offseason, but appears to have emerged victorious in the quarterback competition. He'll trot out with the starters when Virginia takes on Richmond on Aug. 31.

Impact Sources said the program was keeping a close on Colandrea's knee, but the specific injury he is dealing with is unknown. Given that he is able to practice without major issue, it seems like the injury is not very serious and shouldn't affect the start of his season.

The freshman quarterback provided a solid effort in relief duty as the offense had struggled for the majority of the game.
