Headed to UNLV
Colandrea has announced his commitment to UNLV, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.
Impact
Colandrea will join the Rebels after spending the last two seasons with Virginia. The 6-foot sophomore quarterback threw for 4,083 yards (352-of-566), 26 touchdowns and 20 interceptions during his time with the Cavaliers, adding on 502 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Colandrea appears likely to take over at the helm for UNLV next season.

Plans to enter portal
Colandrea plans to enter the transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.
Impact
Colandrea has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining after spending his freshman and sophomore seasons with Virginia. Both are relatively similar, and he used them to put up a combined 4,528 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns for the Cavaliers.

Not starting Saturday
Colandrea has been benched for Tony Musket for the Cavaliers' tilt with Virginia Tech, Greg Madia of The Daily Progress reports.
Impact
Colandrea is coming off a poor showing against SMU, which has led the Virginia Staff to turn to Tony Muskett. Both quarterbacks have had their issues, but the Virginia offensive brain trust must believe Muskett gives them a better chance to win in this rivalry game.

Ineffective in loss
Colandrea was 18-for-27 passing for 108 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 33-7 defeat to Southern Methodist. He also had 20 rushes for negative five yards.
Impact
Colandrea simply couldn't move the football, amassing just 108 yards on 27 attempts. He did throw a touchdown, but one that didn't have any real impact on the game in what was ultimately a 26-point defeat. After a three interception showing the week prior, Colandrea didn't exactly lock himself in as the starter for Week 14.

Officially starting Saturday
Colandrea will the starting quarterback for Saturday's game versus SMU, Preston Willett of The Sabre reports.
Impact
Colandrea, who was benched during last week's game versus Notre Dame, will have another chance to start versus another ranked opponent. Even though Tony Muskett out-played Colandrea versus the Fighting Irish, Colandrea will remain the starter and will look to lead the Cavaliers to an upset win over SMU.

Still starting quarterback
Colandrea will be the Cavaliers' starting quarterback for their game Saturday against SMU, Virginia reporter Mike Barber reports.
Impact
Even with a string of bad performances lately, Colandrea remains the Cavaliers' preferred quarterback under center going into their upcoming game. Weeks 4 to 8 saw a nice run in which he completed 69 passes for 748 yards and six touchdowns without any interceptions. The script flipped in Week 9, resulting in a three-performance span with only one touchdown and seven interceptions.

Miserable showing leads to benching
Colandrea was 8-for-21 passing for 69 yards and three interceptions during Saturday's 35-14 defeat to Notre Dame. He also had four rushes for 23 yards.
Impact
Colandrea and the Virginia offense couldn't get anything going in the first half against Notre Dame. But to make matters worse, he ended the half with three straight interceptions, prompting the Cavaliers to bench him for Tony Muskett. Muskett wasn't electrifying, but he protected the football and scored twice with his legs. Colandrea's job as the starting quarterback in Charlottesville is far from secure.

Shaky in win
Colandrea completed 16 of 24 passes for 143 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 24-19 win against Pittsburgh. He also had 14 rushes for 40 yards.
Impact
Colandrea has struggled in recent weeks. The past two games, he's thrown one touchdown to four interceptions. After throwing just two picks in his seven starts prior, the quarterback has had a recent propensity for turnovers. He did, however, improve his efficiency, completing 66.7 percent of his passes despite throwing for just 143 yards.

Struggles in big loss
Colandrea was 16-for-28 passing for 156 yards and two interceptions during Saturday's 41-14 defeat versus North Carolina. He also had 15 rushes for -16 yards.
Impact
Colandrea couldn't take care of the football against the Tar Heels, nor could he author a win. The quarterback has now thrown for under 160 yards in two straight performances. He was ultimately replaced by Tony Muskett, who played slightly better and threw a touchdown. It's safe to assume Colandrea's job is far from safe at this point.

Valiant effort in loss
Colandrea was 15-for-26 passing for 159 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 48-31 loss versus Clemson. He also had 11 rushes for negative seven yards.
Impact
Colandrea scored twice through the air and led the Cavaliers' offense to 31 points, but it wasn't enough against the juggernaut that is the Clemson offense. The quarterback did lose a fumble, which was his first turnover in four games. Colandrea has been solid but hasn't piled on the stats, and that rung true in a hard-fought loss to Clemson.

Not enough against Louisville
Colandrea was 26-for-45 passing for 279 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 24-20 loss against Louisville. He also had 15 rushes for 84 yards.
Impact
Colandrea had a solid day statistically; his 363 all-purpose yards were his second-highest total of the season. Still, it wasn't enough to beat the Cardinals in a tight one. Colandrea's efficiency wasn't great at 57.8 percent completion and 6.2 yards-per-attempt. His rushing output was a bright spot, and if he can continue to be a dual threat, he could be a playable fantasy quarterback depending on the opponent moving forward.

Does just enough in win over BC
Colandrea was 15-for-26 passing for 179 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 24-14 victory versus Boston College. He also had eight rushes for 23 yards.
Impact
Colandrea's stat-line won't exactly jump off the page, but it was just enough for the Cavaliers to take down Boston College. The true sophomore has put up bigger numbers this season, and his efficiency wasn't quite there against the Eagles. Still, he's orchestrating the offense fluently and protecting the football, with zero turnovers the past two weeks. Louisville is next up for Colandrea and Virginia.

Tosses two scores in win
Colandrea completed 13 of 20 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 43-24 victory versus Coastal Carolina. He also had nine rushes for 46 yards.
Impact
Colandrea was overall effective in a comfortable win over the Chanticleers. It was a good bounce-back after a two-interception performance against Maryland last week. The quarterback only accounted for 131 passing yards, but his rushing total helped his overall production and the Cavaliers didn't need a big day through the air to top Coastal Carolina.

ROTOWIRE
Throws two picks in loss
Colandrea completed 21 of 37 passes for 247 yards and two interceptions during Saturday's 27-13 defeat to Maryland. He also had eight rushes for 17 yards with one touchdown.
Impact
This is a troubling trend for Colandrea, as he's now thrown multiple interceptions in consecutive games. Unlike last week where he countered that with three touchdowns and over 350 yards against Wake Forest, the quarterback didn't score against the Terrapins and was held to his worst completion percentage (56.8) of the season. Colandrea will look to bounce back next week against Costal Carolina.

Big day in win over Wake Forest
Colandrea completed 33 of 43 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday's 31-30 win versus Wake Forest. He also had 13 rushes for 23 yards.
Impact
Colandrea has been very efficient in both of his outings this season as a passer. In a blowout win over Richmond, he completed 73 percent of his passes. Even when he threw the ball 20 more times against Wake Forest, he still completed 76 percent of his passes. He now has five passing touchdowns through two weeks, also a good sign. He'll need to clean up the two interceptions, but overall, it's been a promising start to the season for Colandrea.

Two scores in Week 1
Colandrea was 17-for-23 passing for 297 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 34-13 win against Richmond. He also had 11 rushes for 49 yards with one touchdown.
Impact
Colandrea was extremely efficient against overmatched Richmond. He only threw six incompletions and nearly hit the 300 yard mark while protecting the ball well. His rushing output also adds another dimension to his game. The competition level takes a significant step forward next week against Wake Forest, but this was a good confidence-building performance for the starting quarterback.
