Impact If Burnette is cleared to play another season, Louisiana Tech would keep an experienced option in the backfield. The 6-foot-2 running back will have to get back into playing shape, indicating that he could start the season in a smaller role and work his way into a more significant role as the season progresses.

Impact The Bulldogs had to move Trey Kukuk into the starting quarterback role two games ago, but what's interesting is that suddenly Burnette became the lead running back beside him. However, it worked! In his last two games Burnette has rushed for 225 yards and five touchdowns, and now the Bulldogs get to go bowling.

Impact Third-string quarterback Trey Kukuk was pressed into starting, and he's a run-first player. That led to the offense being reconfigured for this game, including Burnette getting comfortably his most carries of the season. He did well with them, so maybe we will see more of the same next week.
