GAME LOG

Five carries, one touchdown Castle had five rushes for 18 yards and one touchdown during Wednesday's 42-39 victory against Arizona State.
Impact Unlike each of Duke's previous three games, Castle logged fewer than 10 rushing attempts, but his limited opportunities did not stop him from logging a touchdown. Transferring from mid-major Appalachian State to Power Conference staple Duke is a tough challenge that the running back took in stride. Castle logged career-highs in carries (115), rushing yards (488) and touchdowns (12).

Stymied in win Castle posted 16 carries for 35 yards during Saturday's 27-20 overtime win versus Virginia.
Impact Castle saw a spike in carries at the end of the season, and that continued in the ACC title game as he took a season-high 16 handoffs. Still, he wasn't able to get anything going on the ground, totaling just 35 yards (2.2 yards per carry). He remained the second-fiddle to Nate Sheppard, and that should stay the same in the Blue Devils' bowl game.

Another two scores Castle tallied 12 rushes for 21 yards and two touchdowns and gathered in 2 of 3 targets for 18 yards during Saturday's 49-32 win against Wake Forest.
Impact Castle was coming off a hat trick in the Blue Devils' win over UNC in Week 13, and he followed that up with another two touchdowns even though he accumulated less than 40 total yards. Nate Sheppard remained the workhorse, and both backs scored twice as Duke had no problem slicing through Wake Forest's defense. Castle is a consistent part of this offense, but is rather touchdown-dependent for fantasy purposes.

Hat trick in win Castle tallied 13 carries for 49 yards and three touchdowns and reeled in their only target for five yards during Saturday's 32-25 win over North Carolina.
Impact Duke's true freshman tailback Nate Sheppard led the way on the ground with 22 carries, but Castle hit paydirt three times for a huge outing out of nowhere, his biggest game since Week 6 against California. Castle remains unreliable for fantasy purposes, but it must've been a cathartic performance for the senior tailback who's been quiet all season.

Still quiet in Clemson win Castle recorded five carries for 24 yards during Saturday's 46-45 victory versus Clemson.
Impact Castle hasn't been relevant from a fantasy perspective since Week 6. Nate Sheppard is now the undisputed top tailback for Duke, and Castle, who still gets carries, has firmly taken a back seat in this offense. He's now been held under 40 rushing yards in three straight games.
NOVEMBER 3, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Nothing doing Saturday Castle recorded 11 carries for 32 yards during Saturday's 27-18 loss to Georgia Tech.
Impact Castle remains second fiddle to Nate Sheppard, but neither tailback could get it doing in the loss to Georgia Tech. He'll remain a staple of this backfield, as even amidst Sheppard's emergence, Castle still has 10-plus carries in four straight games. Duke faces Clemson on Nov. 1 after a bye week.
OCTOBER 20, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Scores twice vs. Golden Bears Castle accrued 10 rushes for 28 yards and two touchdowns and caught their only target for one yard during Saturday's 45-21 victory versus California.
Impact Castle got involved with Duke up big on California. Nate Sheppard remains the top dog in this backfield, but Castle found the end zone twice despite a limited output on the ground. Moving forward, consider Sheppard the 1A and Castle a more distant 1B in this Blue Devils' running back room.

Takes backseat to Sheppard Castle posted 10 carries for 42 yards and one touchdown and hauled in their only target for 17 yards during Saturday's 38-3 win against Syracuse.
Impact Castle had a solid day, tallying nearly 60 yards, but he played second fiddle to true freshman sensation Nate Sheppard, who amassed 200 total yards. Castle seems to have assumed the No. 2 running back spot for Duke, and will continue to be involved on the ground especially in blowouts like Saturday against the Orange. Still, this is Sheppard's backfield at the moment.

Huge performance out of nowhere Castle logged 12 carries for 92 yards and three touchdowns and reeled in their only target for 13 yards during Saturday's 45-33 win versus North Carolina State.
Impact Castle's previous high for carries all season was four. However, in a big win over NC State, he got 13 total touches, and parlayed that into over 100 total yards, and three touchdowns. Duke's backfield is seemingly shuffled each week and remains a game of musical chairs, but Castle and true freshman Nate Sheppard appear to have taken the reins for the Blue Devils.

Makes the most of three carries Castle had three carries for 69 yards and hauled in all two targets for eight yards during Thursday's 45-17 victory against Elon.
Impact Castle was the third running back in Duke's pecking order, but he had the best day on the ground for the Blue Devils. With just three carries, he tallied nearly 70 yards. Duke's next leading rusher, Jaquez Moore, compiled 44 yards on seven carries. Castle also caught both of his targets, proving his game is well-rounded. Moore and Peyton Jones still figure to lead the way for Duke's backfield, but this performance may earn Castle more looks down the line.
AUGUST 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Joining Blue Devils Castle committed to Duke on Tuesday.
Impact Castle has one year of eligibility remaining, and he's chosen to spend it at Duke. The Appalachian State transfer hasn't rushed for more than 285 yards in a season. However, he's averaged 5.4 yards per carry during his career.
DECEMBER 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Hitting transfer portal Castle has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to Mike Farrell of MikeFarrellSports.com.
Impact Castle rushed for 1,036 yards and eight touchdowns during his time with the Mountaineers. He'll aim to join another program ahead of what figures to be his final year of college eligibility.

Logs one-yard carry Castle (undisclosed) tallied one carry for one yard during Thursday's 38-24 defeat to Coastal Carolina.
Impact There is good and bad that comes with Castle's availability Thursday. The good is that Castle is available, a status that has not been easy for him to achieve this season. The bad is that Castle continues to be limited, having logged only three carries since October. Contrastingly, his September included 39 rushing attempts, which resulted in him recording 184 yards and one touchdown.
NOVEMBER 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for CCU game Castle (undisclosed) is questionable for Appalachian State's game Thursday at Coastal Carolina, Davis Lemons of The Appalachian reports.
Impact For much of 2024, an undisclosed problem or problems have affected Castle's game availability. It seems like this undisclosed issue will make its way to affect him again, though Thursday will confirm that statement.
NOVEMBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Participates in game Castle (undisclosed) participated in Appalachian State's loss Saturday at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Impact Even though Castle did not log any carries during the Louisiana-Lafayette game, he participated in 18 of its plays recorded by Appalachian State. The running back has 39 carries for 184 yards and one touchdown.
