Stays productive in supporting role Latimer accrued four rushes for 14 yards and one touchdown and caught all two targets for 38 yards during Saturday's 45-42 victory over Cincinnati.

Impact Latimer continued to make the most of his limited opportunities, punching in a three-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The score gives Latimer touchdowns in back-to-back games, a development for a reserve back who has become a reliable change-of-pace option behind Cam Cook. While the workload remains modest, Latimer's recent touchdown streak has helped him carve out a niche role in one of the Big 12's most explosive offenses. As long as West Virginia continues generating scoring chances at this rate, Latimer has the ability to pop up with fantasy-relevant production despite operating in a complementary role.

Pushing for RB2 role Latimer is currently leading the running backs competing for a backup role behind Cam Cook, Chris Anderson of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Latimer is a true freshman who is competing against Martavious Boswell, Chris Talley, and others for the backup running back job. Cam Cook is projected to be the starter, though he will need a reliable backup, and Latimer has positioned himself well through fall camp. Head coach Rich Rodriguez praised the running back as a hard worker, noting that while the staff does not want to rush him, he has already earned reps with the first-team offense. This is a promising start for the young running back, who will have the opportunity to learn behind the veteran Cook and continue developing within the Mountaineers' system.
