Back-to-back 100-yard games Smith rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries while also reeling in two catches for 11 yards in Saturday's 66-7 win over Texas Southern.

Impact Smith and Trestan Ebner are on a mission in 2021 as both running backs have opened the season with back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances. Smith already has four touchdowns on the season and gets a soft Kansas defense next week which makes him a potential fantasy play in most leagues.

Co-starter for Week 1 Smith is listed as a co-starter on the depth for Saturday's season opener at Texas State, according to Tim Watkins of 247Sports.

Impact Smith spent the entire 2020 season on defense but will now move to the other side of the ball, and he is expected to compete with Trestan Ebner for the starting role. It remains to be seen how the transition will go, but considering Ebner had a career-worst season in 2020, Smith should get plenty of touches to show he deserves the starting role going forward.

Converts back to running back Smith will move from linebacker to running back for the 2021 season, according to head coach Dave Aranda.

Impact After spending the 2020 season on defense, Smith will return to the Bears' backfield for 2021 where he'll be expected to bring physicality to the running back position. Per Dave Aranda, Baylor needed a downhill runner who "invites impacts at the second level", so the 217-pound Smith would seem to be a good fit. In 2019, Smith carried eight times for 35 yards and a touchdown, but he should be in line for a bigger role in 2021.
