Stepping away from program
Lowery is leaving the Marquette program, per Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com.
Impact
Lowery was recently held out of the team's last two games without injury, indicating something was going on behind the scenes. The 6-foot-5 junior will no longer be part of the Marquette program after spending two full seasons with the Golden Eagles. He had appeared in 11 contests this season while averaging 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

Lowery is out for Saturday's game at Creighton due to personal reasons.

Held out without injury
Lowery (coach's decision) was held out of Wednesday's contest, per Ben Steele of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Impact
Head coach Shaka Smart didn't elaborate on the reason behind Lowery's absence beyond clarifying it as a coach's decision, so his status seems to be up in the air for the timebeing. The 6-foot-5 junior has averaged 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for Marquette this season while shooting just 37.1 percent from the floor. His next opportunity to return will come against Creighton on Saturday.

Scores 13 in first start
Lowery ended with 13 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 23 minutes during Monday's 80-53 win over Albany.
Impact
Lowery made the first start of his collegiate career Monday and he backed that up with a solid performance. He was one of just two Golden Eagles with double-digit points and he added three offensive rebounds, two assists and two steals in the blowout win. It appears Lowery will have a much bigger role on the team this season after coming off the bench during the last two campaigns, and early signs suggest he's ready for that opportunity.

Season-high points in loss
Lowery ended Tuesday's 70-64 loss to St. John's with 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two steals over 23 minutes.
Impact
Lowery provided some scoring relief where it was otherwise lacking in another tough loss for the Golden Eagles, outscoring three of the starting five. The sophomore guard's performance could be an anomaly given that he's struggled on the scoring front this season, but he'll need to continue to step up if Marquette hopes to remain a contender for the Big East moving forward.

Available for game
Lowery (illness) is available for Marquette's game Tuesday against Seton Hall at Newark, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Several days proved to be enough for Lowery's physical illness to subside. For Marquette's 2024-25 team, he has been a consistently used role player, and that role should remain with him. From mid-December up to this point, he averaged 2.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in seven games.

Returns to action Saturday
Lowery finished Saturday's 71-63 loss to Dayton with two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes.
Impact
Lowery made his return against the Flyers after missing each of Marquette's last two games with a knee injury. The sophomore guard put up a moderate line in his return to action, recording a season-high five rebounds while only attempting two shots in the loss to Dayton. A home matchup against Butler awaits on Wednesday.
