Impact Traore opened the season as the Bulldogs' backup center, but that did not stop him from having a solid performance. He led the Bulldogs' bench with 15 points while shooting 60 percent from the field, and it could've been more but he only made half of his six free throw attempts. He played nearly as many minutes (16) as Drayton Jones (17) who started at center, so early signs suggest that Traore has a chance to take over a starting spot if he continues to perform well.

Impact No word of an injury has surfaced regarding Traore, who had otherwise appeared off the bench in every previous game for Auburn this season. Just four days earlier, Traore came off the bench against South Carolina to produce his highest minutes (10) and points (eight) of SEC play. It's possible the decision was matchup-based, with Texas A&M typically playing more of a small-ball lineup, but Bruce Pearl never came out with such a declaration. In any case, the four-star freshman is looking more like a development project than someone who will make significant contributions to the Tigers this season.
