Drake Jeffries - Productive start for Wyoming Jeffries finished Friday's 108-59 victory over Hastings College with 33 points (11-17 FG, 11-17 3Pt), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 33 minutes.

Impact With Hunter Maldonado on the sidelines due to rest and the Cowboys facing one of their weaker opponents on the schedule, the door was open for Jeffries to put forth the best scoring output of his career. He's been a key cog for Wyoming all season, starting all five games and recording six or more rebounds in each.

Kenny Foster - 26 minutes in season debut Foster chipped in two points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals across 26 minutes during Friday's 108-59 win over Hastings College.

Impact Foster missed the first four games of the season with an ankle injury, and while the only points he mustered were from the charity stripe, he still filled the box score with multi-category production. Whether he returns to the starting five -- as was the case for a long stretch last season -- remains to be seen, but at the very least, the third-year guard should give the Cowboys a significant depth boost.

Impact Maldonado has played 36.3 minutes per game this season, so his absence leaves big shoes to fill. It doesn't sound as though he's seriously injured, but Wyoming may not need all hands on deck against Hastings, an NAIA school which will have only seven active players due to COVID protocols.

Impact Foster missed the first two games to open up the season due to an apparent ankle injury and will make his debut off the bench despite starting 12 of a possible 17 games played in last year. The 6-5 junior averaged 9.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game and should remain heavily involved in the mix whether he eventually moves into the starting five or not.

Impact Not much news has emerged on the status of Foster since he was spotted in a walking boot back in mid-October other than the fact he's missed both of Wyoming's games so far. While he should gain a role eventually, given his health, Foster should be considered questionable to return until further notice. In the meantime, the small forward position has largely been filled by Drake Jeffries.

Impact Foster is expected to have a big role this season after starting 12 of 17 games last year, though he missed time early in the season due to COVID protocol, in addition to a six-game absence late due to a knee injury. When it was all said and done, the sophomore put up 9.1 points and 3.6 rebounds across 24.4 minutes, though his season-best 21 points came in his very first game against Incarnate Word. With no official exhibition games on the schedule, Foster and the Cowboys will open things up with a home matchup against Detroit Mercy on Nov. 10.
