It was especially surprising here given Aleksas Bieliauskas went down with an ankle injury early, but according to Cam Wilhorn of SiNow, Garlock's absence was game-plan related, in addition to the fact the the Badgers have been working more in small-ball lineups of late. That tracks with the fact Garlock only saw one minute in a previous matchup against Minnesota this year. While the long-term potential is there for the seven-footer, it's clear Garlock still needs a bit of refinement.
