Impact Giles had been on a major heater and had averaged 25.0 points over his previous eight games. The Bull defense corralled the 5-10 senior into one of his least effective games from the field. The UNC-Greensboro transfer averaged 19.7 points on 42.2 percent from the field with 1.7 steals.

Dillon Battie - Scores team-high 15 Battie posted 15 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Sunday's 70-55 loss to South Florida.
Impact Despite struggling in the semifinals against Tulsa (two points, three rebounds), Battie closed the season on an upswing. The 6-8 sophomore scored at least 12 points in four of his last five games and hit a pair of 3-pointers. It remains to be seen if Wichita State will get an invite to a postseason tournament, but Battie looks like he will be a go-to player for the Shockers next season.

Impact Over his last six games, Giles has hit 38.6 percent of his 11.7 3-point attempts per game on his way to 24.2 points. The 5-10 senior finished second in the American Conference in scoring (behind East Carolina's Jordan Riley). Wichita State faces South Florida in the American Conference tournament final. Giles averaged 23.0 points in the season split with the Bulls.

Impact Battie saved his first double-double for the final game of the regular season as the Shockers clinched the two seed in the American Conference tournament and a bye in the semifinals. The Shockers won their last six games and Battie averaged 10.3 points on 54.6 percent from the field and 4.5 rebounds. The 6-8 sophomore joined the starting lineup on Jan. 11 and Wichita State went 12-3 with him as a starter.

Impact Williams hit a driving layup with 22 seconds remaining that proved to be the game winner in the second overtime period. The 6-5 freshman had been held to single-digit scoring in his four previous games and scored more than 18 points for the first time. The Shockers have won seven of their last nine games to move into second place in the American Conference. Up next is a home game against Temple.
