Impact Giles had his third 20-point game in his last four and ninth of the season. Other than a weird 2-point outing a loss to Florida Atlantic on Jan. 15, the 5-10 senior as scored at least 13 points with at least four 3-pointers in every conference game. Giles leads the Shockers with 18.4 points and 1.6 steals.

Impact Williams returned from a one-game absence and came off the bench for the first time this season. Before the concussion, the 6-5 freshman opened American Conference play with a pair of double-digit scoring games. He should work his way back into the starting lineup, perhaps as early as Sunday against South Florida.

The 6-foot-5 freshman has been an impact player in his first year in Wichita, averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 24.7 minutes per game across 16 contests this season.

Impact Battie moved into the starting lineup with TJ Williams (concussion) out. He made his first start of the season and set season highs across the board. The 6-8 sophomore came into the game averaging just 3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10.1 minutes. Battie may get a bump in minutes after his solid performance.

Impact According to Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle, Williams' latest game is when he suffered his concussion. Post-injury, the freshman did not play again then. Wichita State recently announced that Williams is undergoing concussion protocol, hence why he will be out Sunday. Excluding the Rice-WSU matchup, his 15 games (all starts) feature 5.1 rebounds averaged. In place of him, Wichita State's starting lineup includes Dillon Battie.

Impact Giles was expected to be a high-volume scorer, but he had some quiet moments in the non-conference slate. He is picking things up of late and has scored at least 22 points in three of his last four games. He is leading the Shockers with 17.4 points and converting 42.7 percent of his 3-pointers. Wichita State will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday when they host Rice.
