Quincy Ballard - Double-doubles in win Ballard ended Monday's 76-59 win over Lipscomb with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes.
Impact Ballard started off the season strong Monday, recording a team high in blocks and reaching double-digit rebounds. After averaging just 10.1 minutes across his 10 appearances in 2022-23, Ballard appears primed for an increased role this year as the Shockers' starting center.

Bijan Cortes - Awaiting eligibility waiver Cortes (academics) is awaiting an eligibility waiver for the Shockers' 2023-24 season, according to Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.
Impact Unfortunately for Cortes, an academic problem is preventing him from participating in future games. He already sat out the 2023-24 Shockers' offseason tour at Greece and exhibition game Sunday against Rogers State. If available, Cortes is expected to serve as part of their primary backcourt. The flashy guard's ineligibility would be a significant loss.

Yanis Bamba - Three boards across two minutes Bamba (foot) logged zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds across two minutes during the Shockers' exhibition game Sunday against Rogers State.
Impact Now that Bamba is healthy, he will look to begin his collegiate career in November. If the Shockers' latest game is any indication, they are expected to use him as a bench option during their 2023-24 season. If so, Bamba will have to maximize limited opportunities, like he did Sunday.
OCTOBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Yanis Bamba - Returns to practice Bamba (foot) returned to practice Friday but hasn't been cleared to play in Sunday's exhibition against Rogers State, Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle reports.
Impact Bamba's return to practice is a good sign that he will be available for the regular-season opener against Lipscomb on Nov. 6. However, the freshman forward will likely sit out Wichita State's last exhibition match.
