TJ Williams - Expected to redshirt
Williams (knee) is expected to redshirt his 2024-25 season, per Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.
Impact
Unlike before Eldridge's early-October report, his latest announcement indicated at least a possibility of Williams redshirting. The freshman would preserve his first year of collegiate eligibility.

Matej Bosnjak - Solid output in opener
Bosnjak (not injury related) accumulated three points (1-3 FG, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 21 minutes during Monday's 91-84 victory over Western Ke...
Impact
Bosnjak was questionable for the Shockers' opener, but he played a solid chunk of minutes and managed to impact the game on many levels. He'll look to continue his solid play Saturday against Montana State.

Zane Meeks - Out indefinitely
Meeks (knee) is out indefinitely to start the 2024-25 season, per Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.
Impact
Meeks suffered a knee injury in the preseason and has since sat out practices and exhibition games, but it appears the former Arizona State transfer could be looking at a longer absence. The senior forward struggled to stay on the court for the Sun Devils in 2023 while dealing with a foot injury, playing just five games throughout the season. Meeks is now on his fourth school in five years and will hope to hasten his recovery to make his return as soon as possible, but it seems as if the beginning of the 2024 season is not quite within reach.

Matej Bosnjak - Shoulder not a problem
Bosnjak (shoulder/not injury related) logged four points (0-3 FG, 4-6 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes during Wichita State's exhibition game Sunday against Emp...
Impact
Going into the exhibition game, Bosnjak was dealing with multiple problems, a shoulder injury and eligibility. The shoulder injury is no longer a problem, considering he made four free throws and logged that same amount of rebounds in 21 minutes. Bosnjak's game waiver was temporary, leaving his availability questionable for Nov. 4 at Western Kentucky, according to Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.

Zane Meeks - Preseason DNP because of new injury
Meeks (knee) did not play during Wichita State's exhibition game Sunday against Emporia State.
Impact
Wichita State's lone exhibition game before the 2024-25 season saw Meeks sit out, giving himself no on-court action prior to Nov. 4 when the Shockers are expected to play at Western Kentucky. He will have about a week to recover before the Hilltoppers matchup.

Bijan Cortes - Makes both three-point attempts
Cortes (ankle) logged six points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three assists and one rebound across 15 minutes during Wichita State's exhibition game Sunday against Emporia State.
Impact
Going into Wichita State's 2024-25 season, the biggest question involving Cortes is how much his shooting has changed during the offseason. During the 2023-24 Shockers' campaign, he struggled mightily, averaging 4.4 points while shooting 36.6 percent from the field and 29.0 percent from deep across his 18 games started. Fortunately for Cortes, Sunday's exhibition indicates he has kept his starting spot for now, though there is likely little room for error shooting-wise.

Matej Bosnjak - Dealing with multiple problems
Bosnjak has not been cleared by the NCAA for his 2024-25 season and is dealing with a shoulder injury, according to Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.
Impact
Coming to the United States from a college abroad, Bosnjak requires clearance from the NCAA to participate in Wichita State's 2024-25 season. At the very least, he has partial reinstatement that will allow him to participate in WSU's upcoming exhibition if eligible. However, Bosnjak may not be available by the time Wichita State's regular-season schedule begins Nov. 4 at Western Kentucky. Even if the NCAA does clear him, his injury status will remain questionable until then, as a shoulder problem continues to bug him.

Yanis Bamba - Participates in team scrimmage
Bamba (redshirt) played three minutes during Wichita State's team scrimmage Saturday.
Impact
Bamba will look to avoid a repeat of Wichita State's 2023-24 season, which he sat out due to a foot injury that caused his eventual redshirt. Still, he has four years of collegiate eligibility remaining and will look to use the first to great effect, even if without a role etched in stone.

Bijan Cortes - Sits out during Saturday's scrimmage
Cortes (ankle) did not appear in the Shockers' scrimmage on Saturday, Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle reports.
Impact
Cortes is dealing with a minor ankle issue that held the senior guard out during Saturday's scrimmage at the Koch Arena in front of a crowd of around 2,000. The 6-foot-2 senior, who averaged 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, three assists and 0.7 steals on 18.8 minutes per game last season, is not expected to remain sidelined for an extended period of time. Wichita State will kick off their season with an exhibition game against Emporia State on Oct. 27, and Cortes' status will continue to be monitored leading up to that game.

Zane Meeks - Day-to-day with new injury
Meeks is day-to-day due to a foot injury, per Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle.
Impact
A foot injury caused Meeks to sit out Arizona State's 2023-24 season. While his feet are no longer an issue, a knee injury has flared up, which caused him to sit out Wichita State's latest scrimmage and is causing his day-to-day status before the Shockers' next game, currently scheduled for Oct. 27 against Emporia State.
