Not on injury report Iwuchukwu (chest) isn't listed on Georgetown's injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against DePaul.
Impact Iwuchuckwu, who's been sidelined since mid-November while recovering from heart surgery, will be available for Tuesday night's game. He's averaging 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks across 21.0 minutes per game this season, but he could play limited minutes Tuesday given the lengthy layoff.
JANUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
Held out Wednesday Iwuchukwu (chest) did not play during Wednesday's matchup against St. John's.
Impact Iwuchukwu was upgraded to questionable heading into Wednesday after missing the team's previous nine contests following heart surgery, but he was unable to make his return before the new year. The 7-foot-1 center averaged 11.8 points and four rebounds per game through Georgetown's first four contests before going down. His next chance to return will come against DePaul on Tuesday.
JANUARY 1 • ROTOWIRE
Gets questionable tag Iwuchukwu (undisclosed) is officially questionable for Wednesday's game against St. John's, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.
Impact Iwuchukwu has been out since mid-November while dealing with an unspecified issue. His status upgrade signals the 7-1 senior could return as soon as Wednesday, though a final determination should be made during pregame warmups later on.

Georgetown's Vince Iwuchukwu to have a medical procedure

Georgetown center Vince Iwuchukwu needs to have a medical procedure and will be evaluated after six to eight weeks
NOVEMBER 18, 2025 • Associated Press
Out at least six weeks Iwuchukwu will undergo an unspecified medical procedure that will sideline him for at least six-to-eight weeks, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Iwuchukwu has been a key part of the Hoyas' strong start to the season, averaging 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 21.0 minutes spanning four appearances. The senior center has come off the bench in all four contests, backing up Julius Halafionua. If he's cleared at the six-week mark, Iwuchukwu could return for a Dec. 31 matchup with St. John's. While he's sidelined, Jayden Fort and Seal Diouf could be in line for more minutes.

Scores 17 off bench Iwuchukwu provided 17 points (5-9 FG, 7-9 FT), six rebounds and one block in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 83-70 win over Binghamton.
Impact Iwuchukwu came off the bench in his third straight game Wednesday, but he played more minutes (22) than starting center Julius Halaifonua (12). Iwuchukwu also outplayed his teammate along with nearly all the rest of his teammates as he recording season highs in points (17) and rebounds (six). He got to the free throw line nine times in the win, and he has now attempted at least seven free throws in every game this season. He's hitting those free throws at around a 74 percent clip -- a very solid number for a 7-footer -- and that, along with his rebounding and shot blocking, helps give him a fairly solid floor. He has played more minutes than Halaifonua in every game this season, so he could find his way into the starting five soon.

Commits to Hoyas Iwuchukwu will transfer to Georgetown, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.
Impact Iwuchukwu was a reserve in 2024-2025 with St. John's, averaging 2.7 points and 1.7 rebounds across 7.0 minutes. He was more involved the two years prior at USC, and he'll look to finally become a full-time starter with the Hoyas in his senior season.
APRIL 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Entering portal Iwuchukwu has decided to enter the transfer portal, Travis Branham of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Iwuchukwu announced on April 1 that he wasn't leaving St. John's after a previous report indicated such would be the case, and in the end, the big man has decided to test his luck on the final day of the portal. It remains to be seen where he'll play in 2025-26.
APRIL 22, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Not leaving program Iwuchukwu announced on his personal Instagram account that he's not leaving St. John's and won't enter the transfer portal, Kevin Connolly of D1 Media Pro reports.

APRIL 1, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Testing luck in portal Iwuchukwu is entering the transfer portal, Jeff Goodman of TheFieldof68.com reports.
Impact After playing off the bench this past season behind Zuby Ejiofor and star big man Bryce Hopkins transferring over to the Red Storm, Iwuchukwu will leave a Johnnies program that didn't look to have much in store for him. The 7-foot-1 center has one year of eligibility remaining as he pursues a program to close out his career with.

FEBRUARY 23, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Doesn't travel with Johnnies Iwuchukwu (illness) didn't travel with St. John's to Chicago and isn't available against DePaul, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.
Impact Iwuchukwu, a rotational forward for the Johnnies, hasn't logged more than seven minutes in 10 straight games. His absence, therefore, shouldn't impact head coach Rick Pitino's squad all that much. His next chance to play will come on Feb. 23 against UConn.
FEBRUARY 19, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Returns in Thursday's loss Iwuchukwu (undisclosed) ended Thursday's 99-98 2OT loss to Baylor with two points (1-2 FG) and two rebounds over seven minutes.

DNP in Pitino family battle Iwuchukwu didn't play in St. John's fourth game of the season against New Mexico.
Impact Iwuchukwu was a starter in game two, only to curiously get zero minutes against the Lobos. It's unclear why the center didn't play, but he's only averaging 12.3 minutes across the three games he's appeared in. Head coach Rick Pitino is clearly still tinkering with his rotations, so it's unclear what Iwuchukwu's next opportunity will be.
NOVEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Not part of starting lineup Iwuchukwu is not part of the Red Storm's starting lineup for their game Sunday against New Mexico.
Impact Iwuchukwu barely logged multiple points and rebounds during his game start Wednesday. Instead of him, Zuby Ejiofor will be the Red Storm's starting center for their Sunday matchup.
NOVEMBER 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

NOVEMBER 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
