Last Night in College Basketball: BYU's Massive Comeback Powered by Freshman Star
Roddy Gayle Jr. - Nine and seven off the bench Gayle closed Tuesday's 89-61 win over Villanova with nine points (4-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and two assists across 19 minutes.
Impact Gayle had his most active day on the glass yet with seven boards, and continued to be efficient from the field if not from distance. Still, the guard is bringing 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists off the bench in Ann Arbor -- he's been extremely valuable for head coach Dusty May and company. Gayle is still liable to have a big night even when he doesn't start, especially considering how dominant Michigan has been.

Nimari Burnett - Quiet as Wolverines roll Burnett posted five points (2-8 FG, 1-6 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 20 minutes during Tuesday's 89-61 victory over Villanova.
Impact Burnett has now scored five points in two straight outings. Michigan hasn't needed him to do much more, but the guard was cold Tuesday night against Villanova, especially from distance. With how deep this Wolverines' roster is, and with how many different ways they can hurt you, there will be different contributors on different nights, and Burnett is no exception to that rule.

Aday Mara - Rock solid vs. Nova Mara amassed 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 89-61 victory over Villanova.
Impact Mara hasn't been required to dominate this season, as Michigan has rolled over opponent after opponent. That was once again the case against Villanova on Tuesday night, and Mara once again had a very solid outing. He was once again highly active on the glass with eight rebounds, and was very solid on defense as well with two blocks and a steal. He'll continue to be the Wolverines' center of gravity in the paint.

Trey McKenney - Great start to freshman year McKenney chipped in 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes during Tuesday's 89-61 victory over Villanova.
Impact Even entering the season as a consensus four-star player and top-25 overall recruit, it was going to be a challenge for McKenney to carve out a starting role given the depth and talent on this Michigan roster. While the 6-4 wing from Flint, MI has yet to start game, he's essentially been serving as the sixth man, seeing time at point guard, shooting guard and small forward. McKenney has been especially productive over his last four, posting 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists -- all against power-five or ranked opposition. The outlook is overwhelmingly positive heading into Big Ten play, but he remains on the fringe of fantasy consideration simply due to the fact he's averaging only 21.3 mpg.

Yaxel Lendeborg - Snaps double-digit scoring streak Lendeborg logged nine points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, two assists and four steals across 25 minutes during Tuesday's 89-61 victory over Villanova.
Impact It was the first time in nearly a month Lendeborg had been held to single digits in the scoring department, as he entered the contest averaging 17.5 ppg (to go along with 8.7 rpg) over his previous six games. Without considering preseason expectations, Lendeborg has enjoyed a highly productive campaign for the undefeated Wolverines, though it must be acknowledged that the solid play fellow forwards Aday Mara and Morez Johnson has limited Lendeborg's individual ceiling. It's a pattern that will likely continue as long as Michigan -- who has a real case to be the top team in the country -- continues to see this level of success.

Elliot Cadeau - Season high as Michigan rolls Cadeau totaled 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and two steals across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 89-61 victory over Villanova.
Impact While sophomore LJ Cason has cut into Cadeau's minutes to the point where it could almost be called a timeshare, the fast Michigan pace and highly-efficient offense still allows Cadeau to essentially mirror his counting stats from last season at UNC. Tuesday was a bit of an outlier, as he scored a season-high 18 points in just 23 minutes, essentially due to the fact he got hot from outside. More playing time would certainly raise Cadeau's ceiling, but for now, at least the production has been as advertised.
