Impact Rich had come off the bench prior to Monday. He had not played more than 18 minutes and scored more than 15 points (which he did in the opener). The 6-7 junior used his bulk against the smaller Redhawks. The Roadrunners may be in for a long season. Perhaps Rich will provide some reasons for optimism

Impact Rayfield is in sweats for Monday's contest, marking the forward's first absence of the campaign. The freshman is averaging 8.3 points and 6.5 rebounds across 23.0 minutes per game this season. His next chance to play will come Dec. 31 against FAU.

The 6-6 junior has struggled from 3-point territory and has hit just 29.6 percent from long range and 35.1 percent from the field overall. He brings a bit more size to the Roadrunner starting lineup. The team has a final non-conference game against Seattle on Monday.

He has started every game for UTSA, but struggled to convert shots (31.0 percent from the field). That inefficiency did not change on Sunday, but the volume did.

He has scored in double digits in all but one game and is converting 63.3 percent of his field goals on his way to 9.2 points. Rich does most of his damage in the paint and has not connected on any of his three 3-point attempts. He may in for a bump in playing time if he continues to score well in reserve minutes.
