Impact Verhoeven has logged 16.7 minutes per game in his last three contests but has scored just 10 total points in that stretch. While he might push for a starting spot if he continues to increase his time on the court, Verhoeven has yet to score in double-figures in 21 games.

Impact Verhoeven has started in each of the first nine games for the Wildcats this season and will head to the bench in favor of Matthew Nicholson. The 6-9 senior saw a season-low 12 minutes last week against Prairie View A&M and it appears he could be losing a grip on his starting role.

Impact Verhoeven is one of the few forwards in a guard-heavy team, so he and Robbie Beran's biggest goals are to eat up minutes and rebounds so the guards stay involved. As he's barely playing for half of a game, Verhoeven isn't the most productive of starters since his transfer from UTEP.

Impact Verhoeven missed three consecutive games due to a concussion but was finally able to return for the first time since Dec. 12. The 6-9 junior started the first seven games of the year but came off the bench in two consecutive before sustaining a concussion. For now, Verhoeven will operate as a backup to Kevin Kalu but he and Kalu are still expected to see a relatively even split in minutes.

Impact Verhoeven sat out last Thursday versus McNeese State as well because of the concussion and apparently hasn't been able to clear protocol in time to suit up Tuesday. The Miners don't retake the floor again until Dec. 30, so the junior will have some extra time to rest up before his next chance to lace up the sneakers.
