Starts and scores in win
Johnson chipped in 21 points (7-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 78-74 win over Idaho.
Impact
Johnson started for the first time in 2025-26 and got ample scoring opportunities. The junior played just 11 and three minutes, respectively, in San Diego's first two games. The Toreros went to a three-guard lineup for this contest, so if they continue to do that, Johnson might benefit.

Johnson will now look for his third program in as many years. The guard averaged 6.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists while playing in 29 games and starting 19. He'll have three years of eligibility remaining.

Scores 14 points Monday
Johnson accumulated 14 points (5-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes during Monday's 93-60 loss to Duke.
Impact
Johnson didn't perform at his best on Monday, although, to be fair, the entire Wake Forest team looked overmatched in this 33-point loss. At least Johnson managed to score in double digits, marking the fourth time he's done it across nine games since the beginning of February.

Facilitating well for Wake Forest
Johnson had eight points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and three steals in 37 minutes during Saturday's 63-56 loss to Duke.
Impact
Since entering the starting lineup on Dec. 31, Johnson, a pass-first point guard, is averaging 8.9 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds across 30.3 mpg. Saturday was the first time in that stretch that Wake Forest did not emerge victorious, but the Demon Deacons are still off to a solid 7-2 start to ACC play.

Doesn't get start
Johnson isn't in Wake Forest's starting five ahead of its opener against Coppin State, Les Johns of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Johnson transferred from Louisville, where he averaged 8.7 points, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals across 30 games with eight starts last season. However, he isn't starting at point guard in the Demon Deacons' opener - that honor goes to Parker Friedrichsen.

Submits paperwork for portal
Johnson has submitted his paperwork to enter the NCAA's transfer portal, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.
Impact
Johnson is the last regular piece of Louisville's 2023-24 rotation intent on transferring after Kenny Payne was fired as head coach and replaced by Pat Kelsey. The 6-foot guard has three seasons of collegiate eligibility and a redshirt still remaining.

Will play Wednesday
Johnson (concussion) will participate in Louisville's game Wednesday against Notre Dame, according to Dusty Baker of Wave 3 News.
Impact
Johnson and Skyy Clark (ribs) being available for Louisville's upcoming game gives the team needed depth at point guard the Cardinals noticeably lacked their last two games. Serving as a starter and reserve twice across his four games in February, he has excelled regardless of role. Johnson is averaging 15.0 points, 7.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals this month.

Won't play Saturday
Johnson won't play Saturday against Pittsburgh due to concussion-like symptoms, Mason Horodyski of WHAS11 reports.
Impact
Johnson had started in two of Louisville's last three games while logging at least 22 minutes in each of those contests, but there's no question the Cardinals are taking a cautious approach with the freshman. Johnson is averaging 12.3 points per game over his last five appearances, and his next chance to feature will come against Notre Dame on Feb. 21.

Part of starting lineup Wednesday
Johnson is part of Louisville's starting lineup Wednesday at Syracuse.
Impact
Johnson being part of Louisville's starting lineup is not surprising. After all, he logged 27 points and 11 rebounds when the Cardinals defeated Florida State on Saturday. Perhaps surprisingly, Johnson replaces Curtis Williams though, who scored 19 despite his sub-40.0 percent from the field then.

Holds questionable designation
Johnson (ankle) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Florida State, Matt McGavic of SI.com reports.
Impact
Johnson missed Louisville's most recent loss to Clemson due to this ankle injury, and may miss another. The freshman guard averages 7.8 points this year, and if able to return may be held to lower amounts of minutes due to this being a lower body injury.

Not playing Tuesday
Johnson is out for Tuesday's game against Clemson due to an ankle injury, Matt McGavic of SI.com reports.
Impact
Johnson will miss a game for the first time this season, and the absence of the freshman will limit the team's backcourt depth off the bench, as he was regularly playing between 15 and 20 minutes with the second unit. His first chance to return to the hardwood will come against Florida State on Saturday.

Coming off the bench Wednesday
Johnson is not listed amongst Louisville's starters as they prepare to face off against Miami.
Impact
Johnson, who has started in the Cardinals' last five games, will shift back to the bench Wednesday against the Hurricanes. The 6-foot freshman has played a big role in his first collegiate season, averaging eight points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals on 22.9 minutes per game this season. Johnson has struggled from the field lately and is currently boasting just 35.2/21.2/80.4 shooting lines on the season.
