Impact Pierce got his first start of the season for the Tigers, and he made the most of it, almost picking up his first career double-double. The sophomore hit two three-pointers and also dished out two assists across 23 minutes in an efficient if not explosive outing. It remains to be seen if he'll keep his place in the starting five, but at least against lesser competition, he proved that he can be a serviceable aspect of Missouri's front court.

Will miss a week following surgery Pierce (ear) is set to miss a week after undergoing ear surgery, Eli Hoff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Impact Pierce has missed the past seven games, and he'll miss at least one more as he recovers from a procedure on his ear that stemmed from a lingering illness. The forward is reportedly expected to resume practice next week. Pierce has played very sparingly this season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds across 6.4 minutes.
