GAME LOG

Out for extended time Lawal (ankle) is expected to miss the next few weeks due to an ankle injury, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact It's tough news for Lawal, who has missed each of Virginia Tech's previous four contests due to the injury. The 6-foot-8 senior went down during the Hokies' matchup against Colorado State in late November and it appears his injury is more serious than previously thought. The current timeline sets him up for a possible return towards the start of the new year.

Impact Lawal picked up an ankle injury during Virginia Tech's first game in the Battle 4 Atlantis and will miss a third straight game due to the issue. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, but a return doesn't seem imminent. Per Mark Berman of The Roanoke Times, Lawal is still in a walking boot and is using crutches. In five full games, Lawal is averaging 14.8 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 33.2 minutes.
