Stanford defeats San Jose State 86-82 in a thrilling game on Saturday night
DECEMBER 14, 2025 • Associated Press
Melvin Bell Jr. - Remains sneaky on defense in loss Bell racked up six points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds, one assist and three steals in 36 minutes during Saturday's 86-82 loss to Stanford.
Impact Bell got his third straight start in an eventual loss to Stanford, and he contributed in ways other than scoring for the Spartans. The freshman guard's three steals helped keep the game close for San Jose State, and he's now tallied five steals across his last three contests. If he ends up figuring out his three-point shot in the coming games, Bell could be a problem on both sides of the court for opposing defenses.

Adrian Myers - Drops 14 points off bench Myers chipped in 14 points (6-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 26 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 86-82 loss to Stanford.
Impact Myers was a necessary spark off the bench for the Spartans in the close loss to Stanford, logging his second-highest point total of the season. The sophomore forward has struggled to stay healthy for most of this campaign, but he's scored eight or more points in four straight games now. He should remain a meaningful rotator next Saturday at New Mexico.

Impact Dent-Smith got elevated to the starting roster for the first time this season, and he made the most of his opportunities by tying his season-high of 16 points. The 6-foot-1 senior also scored 16 by making a season-best 50 percent of his shots, signifying that he may have finally figured out his shooting problems from earlier this year. He'll look to stay hot, in the starting lineup or not, against UT-Arlington this upcoming Wednesday.

AJ Rohosy - Season-high 20 points vs. Spartans Rohosy finished Saturday's 86-82 victory over San Jose State with 20 points (8-9 FG, 4-8 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block across 28 minutes.
Impact Rohosy has been volatile from the scoring front so far this season, but he finally put it together and amassed a season-high 20 points over the Spartans. The 6-foot-9 senior's huge game can be credited a lot to his shooting 88.9 percent from the field, which is a season-best off five or more shots taken. He'll aim to tear it up in the paint once again against UT-Arlington this upcoming Wednesday.
