JT Toppin - Massive double-double in debut Toppin closed Friday's 98-77 win over Sam Houston with 31 points (10-19 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 11-16 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals over 32 minutes.
Impact Toppin (lower body) was questionable heading into Friday's tilt but made his season debut, playing a full allotment of minutes while picking up where he left off last season. The reigning Big 12 player of the year recorded eight of his 14 rebounds on the offensive end while topping 30 points, a mark he reached three times last season. Any lingering concerns about Toppin's health moving forward appear to be put to rest.
