GAME LOG

Appears to be out Sunday Howard (ankle) was not participating in warmups ahead of Sunday's game against Louisville, Ken Sugiura of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact Howard played a season-low eight minutes his last time out due to an ankle injury and does not appear he will be able to go Sunday evening. The 6-10 junior has started every game this season, averaging 6.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per contest. Dallan Coleman (undisclosed) could be a candidate to enter the starting five in his place.

Nursing ankle injury Howard played only eight minutes during Tuesday's win over Georgia State due to an ankle injury, Kelly Quinlan of JacketsOnline.com reports.
Impact Howard entered the contest with the injury and tried to play through the issue, and he didn't attempt a shot while totaling two rebounds and an assist in eight minutes. He's started all 11 games this season and has a quick turnaround for Thursday's game against Alabama A&M, leaving his availability up in the air.

Perfect from floor Monday Howard recorded 12 points (6-6 FG), six rebounds and three assists across 27 minutes during Monday's 85-70 win over Charleston Southern.
Impact While Jordan Usher was Georgia Tech's best player by a wide margin, Howard's outing can't be overlooked since he was perfect from the floor while also contributing in other categories as well. This was just his second game with at least 10 points, though, so the next step for him is to be more consistent to deliver more upside as a fantasy asset.

Double-doubles in loss Howard chipped in 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 FT), 13 rebounds and one block in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 72-69 loss to Miami (OH).
Impact Georgia Tech is in dire need of frontcourt production and Howard might be the player that gives them what they're looking for, though it's fair to say he's a steady presence near the rim on both ends of the court. Howard's next chance to make an impact will come Friday at home against Stetson.
NOVEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Stays on bench Sunday Howard did not see the court for the Yellow Jackets in Sunday's upset victory over Kentucky.
Impact While Howard was left out of the starting five for the first time this season, it wasn't necessarily expected that he wouldn't see the court at all. Howard ultimately gave way to a red-hot Moses Wright at center while coach Josh Pastner rounded out his lineup with four more guards. The Yellow Jackets ultimately only used seven players in the contest, with Khalid Moore (15 minutes) being the first forward off the bench. Considering this rotation and alignment resulted in the program's first victory of the season, plus it was in by far its toughest matchup, it wouldn't be surprising to see Pastner roll out a similar game plan moving forward, though it will presumably be dictated by the opposing big men thrown his way.

Slots into starting lineup Howard will be in the starting five for Wednesday's game against Georgia State.
Impact Howard will make his debut for Georgia Tech after receiving an eligibility waiver this past summer. Over 24 games with Georgia last season, Howard registered 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while averaging 7.4 minutes per outing.

Nets waiver from NCAA Howard has received a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately in the 2020-21 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Howard played out his freshman campaign with Georgia but managed just 7.4 minutes per contest with the Bulldogs. He transferred within the state to rival Georgia Tech, where he could compete for a role with the club following the graduation of James Banks. At the very least, the majority of the remaining frontcourt contributors are entering their senior seasons, which should open a path to major playing time in 2021-22 if he can't crack the rotation consistently this year.

Gets waiver from NCAA Howard was granted a waiver by the NCAA on Wednesday, making him eligible to play immediately at Georgia Tech, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Howard left the Georgia program in March, shortly after wrapping up his freshman season with the Bulldogs. He appeared in 24 games (two starts), averaging just 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest. After Howard committed to Georgia Tech earlier in the offseason, the NCAA apparently looked favorably on his case for a waiver. He'll now be able to compete for a role right away in the frontcourt after the Yellow Jackets lost starter James Banks to graduation.
