Sustains injury in second half Chatman suffered a lower body injury during the second half of Friday's loss to VCU and didn't return, Sean Paul of MakingTheMadness.com reports.

Impact The extent of Chatman's injury is unclear, and it could end his season if Dayton is not selected to make the NIT. The senior ended the night with six points (2-7 FG,1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes.

Impact Chatman played 36 minutes in his return to action Tuesday, so it seemed inevitable that he would seize back his starting role in short order. Mustapha Amzil and Elijah Weaver will move to the bench in corresponding moves for Chapman and Zimi Nowokeji, who is making his first career start.

Heavy minutes in return Chatman had seven points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four assists, three rebounds and a steal across 36 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 91-89 OT loss to Rhode Island.

Impact Chatman returned from an 11-game absence that was forced due to hand surgery, and while he wasn't in the starting five for this contest, he still played starter's minutes. Now that it's been proven he can handle a full workload -- even with some foul trouble -- look for Chatman to take over for Elijah Weaver in the near future. Weaver logged just 14 minutes in this contest and was scoreless on 0-for-5 shooting. Chatman, on the other hand, was averaging 9.6 points, 4.1 assists and 2.3 steals prior to his injury. He'll also presumably help take some of the ball-handling pressure off fellow senior Jalen Crutcher.

Impact Tuesday will mark the first time Chatman will be able to play since Dec. 30, as the senior underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right hand in January. Across six outings this season, Chatman is averaging 10.0 points and 4.2 assists.

Impact Chatman has now scored 36 points over his last two games after just 20 point in his first three combined. He's been useful across the board to date, four times handing out four or more assists while collecting 12 steals in five games. If the offense continues, he'll be an intriguing A-10 add.
