Impact Davis is no stranger to scoring in bunches and entered the day second on the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg, but Friday's effort matched a career high and was the first time since his sophomore year that he's hit the 30-point mark. Through three Battle 4 Atlantis games, Davis has averaged 22.0 ppg on 41.2 percent shooting, leading the Tar Heels to a third-place finish.

Considering he has attempted double-digit shots in his first two outings, it's fair to rate him as one of North Carolina's primary scoring weapons. However, he's the second-best offensive player on the team, behind Armando Bacot.

Impact It was business as usual for Davis, who projects to be the primary ball-handler and backcourt scoring option for the Tar Heels in his fourth collegiate season. Without any further exhibition games official on the schedule, Davis and the team will next take the court in their season opener against Radford on Nov. 6.

Even though he managed to clear the 15-point mark after a three-game stretch in which he wasn't able to do so, it's worth noting Davis is also shooting a meager 30.8 percent from the field during that four-game span.

Impact Davis missed most of his field goals and all of his three-point attempts en route to a rather embarrassing loss against a Pittsburgh team without John Hugley (personal). The guard will try to redeem himself across the remainder of February, a month in which he will have plenty of opportunities to compensate for North Carolina's inconsistent output across the last three months.

Impact Davis suffered a face injury against Syracuse, going down hard after a foul. Luckily for the point guard, North Carolina had an extended period in between games, which appears to have given Davis all the time he needed to heal. The junior has been walking production this season, averaging 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
