Diallo scores 22 points, Washington beats USC 83-79 for OT win in 2nd round of Big Ten Tournament

Zoom Diallo had 22 points and 11 assists and scored the go-ahead basket in overtime as Washington defeated USC 83-79 in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday

Sinks five 3-pointers Peterson ended Wednesday's 83-79 OT victory over USC with 15 points (5-11 FG, 5-10 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and a season-high four steals across 43 minutes.

Impact Peterson has started the last three games and hit 11 3-pointers on his way to 13.0 points. The 6-1 Eastern Tennessee transfer has hit just 33.9 percent of his 3-pointers on the season, but is providing some perimeter firepower at the end of the season. The Huskies will play Wisconsin in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday. Peterson had five points and three rebounds in the loss to the Badgers on Feb. 28.

While the senior guard's only shots from the field were three-point attempts, he still nailed three of them and finished with his third double-digit scoring performance of his last four games. He'll close out the regular season averaging 8.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

Impact Peterson was solid off the bench, and chose his shots well, going 5-of-6 from the field. Efficiency has been a struggle for the senior guard this season, but it wasn't Wednesday night against the Hawkeyes. Washington will hope Peterson can build off this performance as it desperately looks to stack wins down the stretch in an effort to remain on the NCAA Tournament bubble. Peterson, however, remains rather streaky for fantasy managers to trust.

He's combined to hit 9-of 24 of those shots for a solid but not outstanding clip of 37.5 percent. After shooting 42 percent from distance last season with East Tennessee, Peterson has continued to let it fly from deep, but with less success, as he's hitting 35.4 percent of his three-pointers this year. Peterson's reliance on the three has led to some fluctuating production with the Huskies, making him a risky proposition fantasy-wise.

Impact It's been a tale of two months for Peterson at this point in the 2025-26 season. The guard scored in double figures in every game in November, but has been held to single digits in the box score in all but one game in December. He's worked his way back into the starting five the last two games, but that hasn't led to more production. At the moment, Peterson's arrow is pointed in the wrong direction as Big Ten play approaches.
