Passes away in car accident Grand Canyon announced that Frayer, his older sister and a friend died early Tuesday in a vehicle crash near Lodi, Calif. Frayer was 23 years old.
Impact The devastating news comes just days after the Antelopes made their first NCAA tournament appearance, with Grand Canyon falling in the first round to Iowa, 86-74. Frayer, who had already graduated from Grand Canyon, made his 107th career start in that game, good for third all time in program history. Over his five-year career at Grand Canyon, Thayer averaged 8.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 three-pointers and 1.0 steals in 25.0 minutes per contest.
