2026 Men's NCAA Tournament Projections: Nebraska Jumps to No. 1 Seed, Michigan Falls

Paul McNeil Jr. - Impressive outside shooting McNeil posted 21 points (7-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 113-69 win over Florida State.

Impact McNeil has been one of the ACC's most-improved players, as he's more than tripled his minutes, scoring and rebounding averages from a season ago. The game log is a bit volatile however, though he has achieved double figures in five of his last six -- a streak that started with a 47-point explosion against Texas Southern back on Dec. 17. Saturday was his best scoring output since, and his third-best total of the year. While the shooting may be streaky, McNeil is a big reason the NCAA Tournament-hopeful Wolfpack, under the direction of new coach Will Wade, are fifth in the country in three-point shooting (40.1 percent) heading into Monday's slate of games.

Darrion Williams - Rounding back into form Williams chipped in 20 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Saturday's 113-69 win over Florida State.

Impact A mid-December shoulder injury slowed Williams down for a bit, but he's now looking like himself again, logging 20 or more points in back-to-back games and posting his first double-double since Dec. 13. The results have been positive, with the Wolfpack posting a 3-1 record to start ACC play, including back-to-back road wins. Next up is a home matchup against Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Tre Holloman - Will work out before game Holloman (ankle) will work out before Saturday's game against Georgia Tech, according to Noah Fleischman of On3.

Impact While not the most promising of updates, Holloman working out before Saturday's game at least indicates that he may be available then against Georgia Tech. Even though North Carolina State went 2-0 in games that he did not play because of his ankle injury, Holloman provides stability to NC State's backcourt, as backed up more than 10 points and less than two turnovers per game this season.

Impact Ebube averages just 4.3 minutes off the bench this season; he's not a big factor for NC State and his absence shouldn't impact head coach Will Wade's gameplan against the Seminoles.

Tre Holloman - Won't play Saturday Holloman (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against Florida State.

Impact Holloman was initially listed as doubtful, and based on that designation, it's not surprising to see he was ruled out for this contest. The absence of Holloman, who's averaging 10.2 points and 2.4 assists per game this season, means there could be more minutes on tap for the likes of Paul McNeil and Matt Able.

Tre Holloman - Doubtful against Seminoles Holloman (ankle) is doubtful for Saturday's matchup against Florida State, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Impact Holloman was previously held out of NC State's last game against Boston College due to an ankle injury, and it seems he may be in line to miss more time. The 6-foot-2 guard has been an impact player in his first season in Raleigh, averaging 10.2 points per game across 15 contests. If he is unable to suit up against the Seminoles he will get his next opportunity to play against Georgia Tech next Saturday.

Darrion Williams - Scores 22 points Tuesday Williams provided 22 points (8-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 79-71 win over Boston College.

Impact Williams was a dominant offensive weapon in a comfortable win over Boston College, but that shouldn't be a surprise. He's been the Wolfpack's best player by a sizable margin this season -- even if he's been going through a slump of late. However, this 22-point output, which was his best scoring mark since Nov. 17, should boost his confidence considerably.

Impact Holloman played just nine minutes in Saturday's loss to Virginia, and while his x-rays came back negative, he won't be ready to return Tuesday against the Eagles. His next chance to play will come against FSU on Saturday, Jan. 10. With Holloman out, Paul McNeil and Matt Able should see more minutes in the backcourt next to Quadir Copeland.

Impact Copeland was the top scoring threat for NC State in this loss, and he was one of three players who scored in double digits. Copeland has been remarkably consistent this season and has scored in double digits in all but one of his last nine contests, averaging 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game in that stretch.

Impact Breed logged his fourth straight start as the Wolfpack took on the Cavaliers, and he continued to build on his recent scoring surge. The senior guard hit double-digit points for the first time this season, along with notching three steals in the loss. He'll look to stay in the starting lineup and continue his tear at Boston College this upcoming Tuesday.

Impact Holloman's injury isn't expected to be long term, according to head coach Will Wade. However, the guard's status for the Wolfpack's next game, a road tilt with Boston College on Tuesday, Jan. 6, is uncertain. The Michigan State transfer is having the best statistical season of his career, averaging 10.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 46/44/83 shooting splits.

Impact Able was a game-time decision ahead of Saturday's contest, but the freshman wing suited up and played close to his season average of 19 minutes per game. While it was a quiet day on the offensive end, Able managed to extend his streak of games with a steal to eight.

Impact North Carolina State will be down a depth piece as the Wolfpack try to fend off Virginia. Without him available, they will have to rely more on their backcourt starters or bring a spark plug off their bench. For the latter, the Wolfpack have brought back Terrance Arceneaux, a healthy scratch for NC State's last two games before Saturday.

He has another tougher matchup against Virginia ahead, prior to hitting the road for games against Boston College and Florida State the following week.
