Donovan Dent - Named MW Player of the Year Dent is the 2024-25 Mountain West Player of the Year, TheMW.com reports.

Impact During the 2025 Mountain West season, only one player logged more than 20.0 points per game. The aforementioned player is Dent, who averaged 20.9 while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 83.5 percent from the free-throw line across 19 games. Along with free-throw percentage, he also logged team-best rates in assists (6.0) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0). Dent's team-leading output helped New Mexico skyrocket from last season's MW underdog to this year's standings leader. With many bases covered, Dent being the Mountain West Player of the Year should not be so surprising.

Next up for Junior Joseph and the Lobos is the Mountain West tournament, though the team appears to be in the NCAA Tournament field of 68 regardless of the outcome after winning the MWC regular season. In addition to that accomplishment, non-conference wins over UCLA, USC and VCU have all boosted New Mexico's resume.
