Donovan Dent - Named MW Player of the Year Dent is the 2024-25 Mountain West Player of the Year, TheMW.com reports.
Impact During the 2025 Mountain West season, only one player logged more than 20.0 points per game. The aforementioned player is Dent, who averaged 20.9 while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 83.5 percent from the free-throw line across 19 games. Along with free-throw percentage, he also logged team-best rates in assists (6.0) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0). Dent's team-leading output helped New Mexico skyrocket from last season's MW underdog to this year's standings leader. With many bases covered, Dent being the Mountain West Player of the Year should not be so surprising.

College basketball conference tournament preview: Bubble teams, players to watch, picks
Nelly Junior Joseph - Massive effort to close out regular season Junior Joseph accumulated 26 points (13-19 FG, 0-3 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in 39 minutes during Friday's 81-67 victory over UNLV.
Impact Junior Joseph closes out the regular season with his best scoring output since the season opener. He's also dominated on the glass of late, averaging 15.0 rpg over his last four contests. The 6-10 senior has excelled in matchups against UNLV in particular in 2024-25, logging a combined 48 points and 34 rebounds across two contests. Next up for Junior Joseph and the Lobos is the Mountain West tournament, though the team appears to be in the NCAA Tournament field of 68 regardless of the outcome after winning the MWC regular season. In addition to that accomplishment, non-conference wins over UCLA, USC and VCU have all boosted New Mexico's resume.

Tru Washington - All-around effort against Air Force Washington logged 14 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three steals across 28 minutes during Saturday's 92-71 victory over Air Force.
Impact After a 1-for-9 showing against the defensive-minded SDSU Aztecs earlier in the week, Washington bounced back with a strong all-around effort. It's been a solid sophomore season for the guard from Phoenix, who has proven to be a steady backcourt complement to point guard Donovan Dent.

Nelly Junior Joseph - Efficient double-double Junior Joseph logged 14 points (7-8 FG), 13 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals over 30 minutes during Saturday's 92-71 win over Air Force.
Impact A soft matchup against Air Force allowed Junior Joseph to log his 13 double-double of the season and first since Feb. 8. His three blocks also snapped a three-game stretch without a rejection, and he now has a combined 29 rebounds in his last two games. He continues to be an elite asset in formats that feature the Mountain West as the Lobos look to solidify their spot in the 2025 NCAA Tournament field.

Mustapha Amzil - Tough shooting in return Amzil amassed three points (1-8 FG, 1-6 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal across 15 minutes during Tuesday's 73-65 loss to San Diego State.
Impact Amzil returned from a two-game absence, but he may not yet be at 100 percent, as his 15 minutes played were a season-low despite getting the starting nod. The fact he was going up against the best defense in the Mountain West may have also contributed to his 1-for-8 shooting line. He'll get a much easier matchup, and effectively an opportunity to get back into rhythm, when New Mexico hosts Air Force on Saturday.

Donovan Dent - Solid output in defeat Dent produced 26 points (9-20 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven assists and one block across 38 minutes during Tuesday's 73-65 loss to San Diego State.
Impact Dent recorded his highest scoring total of the month and was above his season average in assists, but it wasn't enough to pull off a big road victory. Still, the effort was encouraging from an individual standpoint, as he was able to offer a solid stat line against the top defense in the Mountain West, which bodes well for his outlook when the competition rises even further in March.

Mustapha Amzil - Available vs. SDSU Amzil (foot) will be available for Tuesday's meeting with San Diego State, Geoff Grammer of the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Impact Amzil will be available after a two-game absence due to a foot injury. The senior forward will look to make an impact on the game after totaling 24 points across his last three performances.

Mustapha Amzil - Once again game-time decision Amzil (foot) is a game-time decision for New Mexico's game Tuesday at San Diego State, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Amzil was a game-time decision before New Mexico's midweek matchup at Boise State. He did not play then. Ideally for Amzil, Tuesday will be different.

Nelly Junior Joseph - Four-game scoring high Junior Joseph racked up 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and two steals across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 86-78 loss to Boise State.
Impact Junior Joseph has had to take on more of the load recently with third-leading scorer Mustapha Amzil (foot) on the shelf, and he's responded by surpassing his season average in back-to-back games. The Lobos now have a bit of a break in the schedule before heading to San Diego State on Tuesday.
FEBRUARY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Donovan Dent - 11 dimes in defeat Dent recorded 17 points (4-13 FG, 9-11 FT), three rebounds, 11 assists and two blocks across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 86-78 loss to Boise State.
Impact Dent typically provides most of the scoring, but he reached double-digit assists Wednesday for the fourth time this year and first time in MWC play. However, it wasn't enough for the Lobos to escape with the road win, resulting in their eight-game winning streak getting snapped.
FEBRUARY 20 • ROTOWIRE
CJ Noland - Returns against Boise State Noland (head) contributed 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 86-78 loss to Boise State.
Impact Nolan's status for this contest was uncertain due to a head injury that forced an early exit last week against Utah State, but it turns out the senior guard won't miss any time. He'll have plenty of rest ahead of next Tuesday's matchup at San Diego State.
FEBRUARY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Mustapha Amzil - Second straight DNP Amzil (foot) did not take the court in Wednesday's 86-78 loss to Boise State.
Impact Amzil, the second-leading scorer for the Lobos, has now missed three of his last four games. His next chance to return will be Tuesday against San Diego State. Jovan Milicevic has been picking up starts in his stead.
