Season-high 21 points on senior night McGuirl ended Saturday's 78-71 loss to Oklahoma with 21 points (8-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, five assists and three steals in 39 minutes.

Impact The fifth-year senior did all he could to try to get his team a win in his final home game. Unfortunately it just wasn't quite enough. After a very slow start to the season, McGuirl is averaging 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.4 three-pointers, and 1.6 steals over the last five games. He will hope to lead the Wildcats on a late postseason push on Wednesday against West Virginia.

Impact McGuril's 18 points were a season high for the senior. He played all 40 minutes, but it just wasn't quite enough to pull out a road win. After a slow start to the season, McGuirl is starting to trend in the right direction as Kansas State hopes to make a late push for an NCAA Tournament bid. Over the last four games he is putting up 12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 three-pointers, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. The Wildcats close the regular season with Oklahoma on Saturday.

Impact McGuirl has now started the last three games. He had been a regular starter over the last two seasons, so its been interesting to see him be relegated to more of an option off the bench this season. Kansas State had a lot of good transfers come in during the offseason, which bolstered their rotation. It looks like coach Bruce Weber will continue to roll with McGuirl going forward as a starter unless something changes.
