Impact Van Komen spent the 2024-2025 season at Elon, where he averaged 6.0 points and 7.9 rebounds across 32 starts. The 7-foot-4 center appears to have one year of eligibility remaining, which he'll spend with the Thundering Herd.

Impact Van Komen didn't play in the 2021-22 or 2022-23 seasons due to a foot injury. The 7-foot-4 big man played just 13 games in 2020-21 for Saint Mary's after transferring from Utah. Van Komen will likely look for a fresh start with his third program.

Impact Van Komen began his career at Utah before transferring to Saint Mary's the following season, where he was used sparingly, appearing in just 13 games as a reserve. He did not see the court for the entire 2021-22 season, and whatever injury that prevented that for the 7-4 center seems to still be in play. It will be difficult to gauge a potential return until the school provides an update on his status. In the meantime, the center minutes have gone almost exclusively to Mitchell Saxen, with freshman Harry Wessels chipping in on occasion as well.
