Mouhamed Sylla - Shines on both ends Sylla racked up 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-6 FT), 15 rebounds, two blocks and three steals over 34 minutes during Monday's 56-52 OT victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Impact The scoring output was certainly surprising for Sylla, who was making his college debut in this game, but his defensive contributions stood out even more. The big man was dominant on the glass and active defensively, as evidenced by his combined five steals and blocks. Don't expect Sylla to put up these stat lines on a regular basis, but if he can make this kind of two-way impact, he'll need no time to become a key player for Georgia Tech.

Baye Ndongo - Looking to return Friday Ndongo (undisclosed) is looking to return to action Friday, per Najeh Wilkins of SI.com.
Impact Ndongo sat out the Yellow Jackets' opener, but the forward's injury is considered minor and he should return to action sooner rather than later. He's currently aiming for a Friday return for the game against Bryant. Last season, Ndongo averaged 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds.

Dyllan Thompson - Inactive in opener Thompson (undisclosed) didn't play in Monday's 56-52 overtime win over Maryland Eastern Shore, Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact Thompson's college debut has been pushed back to at least Friday's game against Bryant. It's unclear why he sat out Monday's season opener. The freshman forward is likely jockeying for a spot in the rotation.

Lamar Washington - Doesn't play in opener Washington (undisclosed) didn't play in Georgia Tech's opener against Maryland Eastern Shore, per Chad Bishop of AJC.com.
Impact Washington spent the 2024-2025 season with Pacific, where he averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists. That appeared to have him primed for at least a rotational role with the Yellow Jackets, but Washington didn't take the court in Georgia Tech's opener. It's unclear why that was, whether it was due to an injury or otherwise, but he'll look to suit up for game two against Bryant on Friday.

Akai Fleming - Suits up after all Fleming (undisclosed) totaled two points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), one block and one steal in 12 minutes during Monday's 56-52 OT win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Impact Fleming was reported before Georgia Tech's opener to be ruled out, but the freshman guard wound up playing after all. He struggled from the field, but did see a solid 12 minutes off the bench. Fleming looks poised to be a rotational piece in his freshman year.
