Moves back to bench
Santos-Silva will return to a bench role Saturday versus Oklahoma State.
Impact
Santos-Silva got a look with the starting unit on Senior Day but will move back to his usual bench role in the regular-season finale Saturday. He's unlikely to see his minutes change much because of the move, but he's typically not a huge fantasy factor either.

Solid contributions in limited minutes
Santos-Silva ended with seven points (3-3 FG, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 15 minutes during Tuesday's 77-64 victory over Texas.
Impact
Santos-Silva has done a really nice job accepting his role this season after being a regular starter for the last three years. Bryson Williams and Kevin Obanor have been a force in January, but Santos-Silva has been able to contribute in multiple categories in his 15-20 minutes he gets a night. Texas Tech will square off with West Virginia on Saturday.

Chips in nicely off bench
Santos-Silva logged seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 20 minutes during Saturday's 75-67 win over Kansas.
Impact
Santos-Silva's 20 minutes were the second highest total of the season for the fifth year senior. He isn't the double-double threat that he has been in past years as a starter, but seems to have found himself as the primary big off the bench.

Plays 17 minutes despite injury
Santos-Silva (toe) had six points (3-4 FG, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 75-62 win over Arkansas State.
Impact
Santos-Silva was limited to just three minutes against Tennessee last week due to a sprained toe. There was a possibility he'd be rested Tuesday night in order to be as healthy as possible for Saturday's meeting with Gonzaga but he ended up playing around his typical average. The 6-7 senior figures to be fully available moving forward and should continue to see a relatively even split with Bryson Williams on the floor.

Dealing with sprained toe
Santos-Silva was limited to three minutes against Tennessee due to a sprained toe and has a primary focus of being as healthy as possible for Saturday's game against Gonzaga, Carl...
Impact
Santos-Silva's availability for Tuesday against Arkansas State thus comes into question. Even if he does play some against the Red Wolves, it's unlikely the big man will handle his usual minutes. Daniel Batcho and Kevin Obanor logged extra minutes Saturday in his place and would likely do so again Tuesday if Santos-Silva sits or remains severely limited.

Slides to bench in opener
Santos-Silva provided 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and three steals over 16 minutes during Tuesday's 89-74 win over North Florida.
Impact
Santos-Silva was surprisingly moved to the bench in favor of transfers Kevin Obanor and Bryson Williams. Santos-Silva still ended up with a solid outing, but it is a bit concerning that the two newbies already took Santos-Silva's starting spot. This will likely take some more games to truly understand the frontcourt dynamic this season for Texas Tech.

Solid start to season
Santos-Silva is posting 8.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game this season.
Impact
He is also shooting 56 percent from the floor. The VCU transfer has come right in and started every game for the Red Raiders. Santos-Silva started the season with two double-doubles, but has yet to post one since. The return of Kevin McCullar has seemed to cut into to some of his opportunities in the frontcourt.

Contributing well on glass
Santos-Silva had eight points (4-10 FG), six rebounds, one block and a steal in the blowout of Grambling on Sunday.
Impact
Santos Silva is leading the Red Raiders on the glass this season as expected at 8.2 RPG. He also has a pair of double-doubles through the first five games. Santos-Silva shouldn't see more than 25 minutes a night, but will rebound at a very efficient rate when in the game. The Red Raiders will face Abilene Christian on Wednesday.

Voted Newcomer of the Year in Big 12
Santos-Silva was voted the 2020-21 Preseason Newcomer of the Year in the Big 12 conference.
Impact
Chris Beard and the Red Raiders have an incredibly successful recent history of reloading post players via the transfer market, with Chris Clarke filling a significant role last season and Tariq Owens doing the same the year before. Now it's Santos-Silva's turn, as he'll look to follow up back-to-back years of double-digit scoring at VCU in what will be his final season of collegiate eligibility. Texas Tech lost Russel Tchewa to the transfer market this season, and while the 6-foot-6 Terrence Shannon has seen minutes at the five, it's not his natural position. This leaves Santos-Silva to take on all the minutes he can handle for a team voted to finish fifth in the conference in the preseason polls. Santos-Silva is plenty capable of filling the box scores for fantasy players, as he also chipped in 8.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals while playing in a competitive Atlantic 10 conference in the 2019-20 season.
