Caleb Love - Dazzles in season opener Love closed with 22 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-10 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 83-67 victory over Loyola Maryland.
Impact Love was a key piece for the Tar Heels last season and seems ready to handle an even bigger role this time around, as he led UNC in scoring while also delivering quite a few eye-popping plays in the season opener. His passing numbers should eventually improve and he's not likely to score around 20 points on a regular basis, but his role as a key figure for the Tar Heels is all but secure.

Brady Manek - Goes for 20 in season opener Manek posted 20 points (9-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds and a block across 29 minutes in Tuesday's win over Loyola.
Impact Manek averaged just 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds last season but was poised to have a better year in 2021-22, and while one game is too small of a sample to measure, he could very well operate as one of the team's main scoring weapons given how involved he was across the board. He should see steady minutes on a frontcourt that lost names such as Sterling Manley, Armando Bacot and Garrison Brooks compared to last season's roster.
