Impact Boswell's four points were his lowest mark on the season, and a real outlier for the guard who averaged 17.0 points heading into the showdown with Ohio State. He was cold from the field, hitting just 25 percent of his shots. Still, his four shots were also season low, he's usually much more assertive, as he came into the night averaging 11.4 shots per game. Again, this looks like an outlier for the starting point guard.

Big effort comes up short Boswell ended with 25 points (8-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds and three assists across 39 minutes during Friday's 74-61 loss to UConn.

Impact Boswell's fight in this one was the only reason the Illini were remotely competitive, as this game had major blowout potential had the senior guard not consistently made tough shots. It was Boswell's second-best game in terms of both scoring and rebounding totals this season and he only committed one turnover against a tough UConn defense. On the season, Boswell is now averaging career highs in both scoring (17.3 ppg) and assists (3.9 apg). He and the Illini have a tough schedule after a short break to begin the month of December, as they'll face Tennessee on Dec. 6 and Ohio State on Dec. 9.

Impact Boswell has been electrifying for Illinois to start the season. In his last two games, he's totaled 53 points. What's more, he's doing so while being incredibly efficient, currently putting up 53/53/77 shooting splits. Still, he's not only looking to score, as he's averaging 5.7 boards and 3.7 assists as well. It's been quite the start to the year for Boswell, who appears to have taken his game to another level.
