Granted another year of eligibility
King has been granted an additional year of eligibility and will play for Valparaiso in the 2022-23 season, Paul Oren of The victory Bell reports.
Impact
The news of King's additional year of eligibility comes at a much needed time for Valpo with news that Thomas Kithier will miss the entire season with a back injury. King is coming off a strong season that saw him average 14.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.7 three-pointers per contest. He has a strong chance to better all of those in 2022-23.

Key contributor at Valpo
King closed Saturday's 79-72 2OT win over Indiana State with 24 points (8-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-12 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 43 minutes.
Impact
King has bounced around destinations since leaving the Wisconsin program in the middle of the 2019-20 season, but he appears to have finally settled in at a new home in the Horizon League. He wasn't immediately eligible to begin the season due to a agent-related violation that occurred prior to the 2021 NBA G League Draft, but he made his debut Dec. 7 and was immediately put into the starting five the very next game. He's now scored in double figures in all but two of his 14 appearances and leads the Beacons with a 14.9 ppg scoring average. The team success hasn't necessarily followed, however, as Valpo is currently in the bottom half of the standings with a 4-7 conference record.

Slated to debut Tuesday
King (undisclosed) will make his season debut Tuesday against East-West University, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
King was forced to miss the start of the regular season since he hired an agent for the 2021 NBA G League Draft before he was unselected. The transfer from Wisconsin should take on a prominent role at Valparaiso after he averaged 10.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game across 19 appearances during his final season with the Badgers.
