Entering NBA Draft Head coach Kelvin Sampson confirmed that Flemings will declare for the 2026 NBA Draft at an upcoming press conference, per Chris Baldwin of PaperCity Magazine.

Impact The news hardly comes as a surprise as Flemings is widely considered to be one of the top draft prospects and a lock to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. The 6-foot-4 guard had an incredible freshman season for the Cougars, averaging 16.1 points and 5.2 assists per game across 37 contests while earning First Team All-Big 12 honors. The dynamic freshman is expected to hear his name called early in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Can't get it going Flemings racked up 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 37 minutes during Thursday's 65-55 loss to Illinois.

Impact Like many of his fellow Cougars, Flemings struggled to get things going offensively. Flemings closed out the first half with a triple to give him nine points going into the break and it looked like it may light a fire under Houston. However, he only managed three shot attempts and two points in the second half as the Cougars bowed out in the Sweet 16. The standout freshman point guard had an otherwise outstanding season and while his decision for next year is not yet official, it looks highly likely that he'll test the NBA draft waters as a likely lottery pick. If this turns out to be his only season in Houston, he'll end his career with averages of 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals while shooting 47.6-percent from the floor and 38.7-percent from deep.

Impact Flemings led the way for the Cougars with 18 points while adding six boards, four dimes and vandalizing the Vandals with a couple of thefts. The blue-chip freshman rebounded from a Big 12 championship loss in which he scored eight points on 3-for-12 shooting from the floor and shot better than 50-percent while taking 10 or more shots for the first time in nine games. Houston could have essentially named their number against the outmatched Vandals and Flemings was certainly in line for a bigger performance had the Cougars not called off the dogs and moved most of their starters to the bench with just over seven minutes remaining. For the season, Flemings is averaging 16.4 points, 5.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 39.2-percent from beyond the arc.
