Eight rebounds in return
Sy finished Wednesday's 101-76 victory over North Carolina State with six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 15 minutes.
Impact
Sy was forced to sit out of the previous game with an ankle injury. He played just 15 minutes, but did rack up eight boards in a blowout win. He should see more action in the ACC Tournament.

Warming up Wednesday
Sy (ankle) is warming up ahead of Wednesday's matchup with North Carolina State, Conor O'Neill of Rivals.com reports.
Impact
Sy was forced to miss Saturday's win over Louisville due to an ankle injury, but it sounds like he could return Wednesday after he was seen stretching during pregame warmups. The senior center is averaging 6.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game this season.

50-50 to play Wednesday
Coach Steve Forbes said that Sy (ankle) is 50-50 to be able to play Wednesday against N.C. State, Les Johns of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Sy did not play in Saturday's game against Louisville after injuring his ankle in the previous game. His pregame involvement should tell the story on whether or not Sy suits up agains the Wolfpack Wednesday.

ROTOWIRE
Not likely to play Saturday
Sy (ankle) is not expected to play Saturday against Louisville, according to Rivals.com.
Impact
Sy came out of the tunnel and is peddling on a stationary bike near Wake Forest's bench, meaning he's not likely to be active for this matchup. If that's the case, then his lone chance to return before the end of the regular season would be on Mar. 2 against NC State.

Scores efficient 13 points
Sy contributed 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds and one block across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 69-51 victory over North Carolina State.
Impact
Sy was almost perfect from the field but also made his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball. While he hasn't been able to deliver consistent scoring figures, the fact that he's scored in double digits in two of his last five appearances is certainly encouraging.

ROTOWIRE
Best game of season Tuesday
Sy supplied 16 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds and one steal over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 76-54 win over Florida State.
Impact
This was Sy's best game by a wide margin, as he posted season-best marks in both points and rebounds while also notching his fifth game with at least 10 points. He's still averaging just 6.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, but he seems to be trending in the right direction.

ROTOWIRE
Reaches 10-point mark in loss
Sy contributed 10 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and five rebounds over 12 minutes during Saturday's 92-84 loss to Miami (FL).
Impact
Sy came off the bench and while his efforts were not enough to carry Wake Forest to the win, this was still a strong outing for the senior big man. It was the third time Sy notched 10 or more points on the season, though based on what he's done this year, he's not likely to record these scoring performances on a regular basis.

ROTOWIRE
Not starting Wednesday
Sy is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Louisville.
Impact
With Jake LaRavia rejoining the lineup after a two-game absence, Sy will shift back to a bench role. The senior is averaging 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game this season.

26 minutes in start
Sy notched four points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), eight rebounds and two blocks over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 77-70 victory over VMI.
Impact
Sy ended up getting the start and was effective on the defensive end holding down the middle. It's unclear if the Ole Miss transfer will remain in the starting lineup going forward, but we will find out on Friday against UNC-Charlotte.

Warming up Saturday
Sy (illness) warmed up prior to Saturday's game against LSU, Conor O'Neill of Rivals reports.
Impact
Sy played just four minutes Friday against Oregon State while battling an illness. The issue evidently wasn't a major one, however, as he appears to set to return to action just one day later.

ROTOWIRE
Dealing with illness
Sy closed Friday's 80-77 OT win over Oregon State with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one block over four minutes.
Impact
According to Les Johns of 247Sports.com, Sy was suffering from an illness that caused him to throw up at halftime and ultimately limited his minutes. The senior center had been averaging 7.8 points across 17.6 minutes in the five games prior, so at least there's an explanation for the sudden downturn in production. He'll likely be a game-time call Saturday against LSU, and even if cleared, may be limited.

Plays usual role Saturday
Sy (lower leg) played and tallied two points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3PT, 2-4 FT) and six rebounds over 14 minutes Saturday versus North Carolina A&T.
Impact
A question mark coming in, Sy played his usual minutes in the contest, suggesting his leg issue wasn't really part of the equation anymore. He should continue to provide double-digit minutes off the bench moving forward.

ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Saturday
Sy (lower leg) is questionable for Saturday's game against North Carolina A&T, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Sy left Tuesday's action earlier in the week after suffering an apparent lower leg injury and will see how he feels during warmups. The 6-10 has averaged 8.3 minutes, 5.7 rebounds and a steal in 19 minutes per game so far but could see a bit of a smaller role with 7-1 freshman Matthew Marsh ready to make his debut.

Goes down with lower-leg injury
Sy left the court in Tuesday's matchup against Charleston Southern with what appeared to be a left knee/lower-leg injury, Conor O'Neill of Deacons Illustrated reports.
Impact
Sy had been making his presence known prior to his departure, posting 12 points and five rebounds across 15 minutes off the bench. Should he end up unavailable in the short term, Dallas Walton would seemingly stand to gain the most from a minutes perspective. The Demon Deacons square off against North Carolina A&T on Saturday.

Leaves Ole Miss
Sy has left the Ole Miss basketball team for personal reasons, Nick Suss of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger report.
Impact
Sy has appeared in just one game since Feb. 2 and doesn't appear set to return anytime soon. It's unclear if the senior has any plans to continue his collegiate basketball career next season or whether or not he will be at Ole Miss if that's the case.

Records back-to-back DNPs
Sy has missed back-to-back games for the Rebels, with his absence Feb. 23 apparently a coach's decision, according to Ben Garrett of 247 Sports.
Impact
It seems a bit off that a player who has started 31 games for the program has simply fallen out of the rotation with the team's NCAA Tournament hopes on the line, but barring any additional reports, that just may be what's happening here. Sy did sit out three games earlier this month with a knee injury, but returned and logged three points in seven minutes against Mississippi State on Feb. 20. The senior has been absence since, with K.J. Buffen and Romello White drawing starts, while Robert Allen and Sammy Hunter see forward minutes off the bench.

ROTOWIRE
Will play Saturday
Sy (knee) will be available for Saturday's contest against Mississippi State, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Sy has missed three games in a row but is set to make his return Saturday, in a game where Mississippi will attempt to extend its four-game winning run. Sy has struggled to make much of an impact, however, averaging just 2.5 points and 2.0 rebounds over his last 11 appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Ruled out Saturday
Sy (knee) won't be playing Saturday against South Carolina, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Sy has been dealing with a knee injury and is set to miss his third game in a row -- it'll be the second time this season where he'll miss at least three contests. He hasn't been much of a factor when healthy, though, and he's averaging just 3.1 points per game while going seven straight appearances without scoring more than two points.

Sidelined with knee injury
Mississippi head coach Kermit Davis said that Davis won't play Wednesday against Missouri due to a knee injury, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
With Sy set to miss a second straight game with the knee injury, a larger workload should await for starting center Romello White, who overcame an unspecified injury of his own to play a season-high 40 minutes in Saturday's 86-84 overtime win over Auburn. Sy will hope to move past the knee injury in time to play in the Rebels' game this weekend at South Carolina.

ROTOWIRE
Making his return Tuesday
Sy (undisclosed) will play in Tuesday's game against Alabama, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Sy had missed the team's last four games due to an undisclosed issue. The senior has been unable to make much of an impact this season, but was a consistent starter last season for the Rebels where he averaged 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.

Missing another game
Mississippi head coach Kermit Davis said Sy (undisclosed) won't play Tuesday against Tennessee-Martin, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Sy will miss his fourth straight game due to the unspecified issue. Look for Sammy Hunter to remain in the Rebels rotation as the main backup to starting center Romello White.
