Tallies 28 points in OT win Johnson totaled 28 points (8-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 10-11 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 40 minutes during Tuesday's 96-87 OT win over Nevada.
Impact Johnson is unquestionably the Comeback Player of the Year in college basketball and arguably all of sports, and his story keeps getting better. The 6-6 senior has started all five games for the Wildcats this season and reached double figures in each. While he has always been a scoring threat, Tuesday's effort was a new career high and brought season average up to a team-high 18.0 ppg.
NOVEMBER 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Another double-digit scoring effort Johnson amassed 14 points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 77-57 victory over Rhode Island.
Impact Johnson scored in double-digits for the fourth straight game to start the 2022-23 campaign. While the Florida transfer did finish as the Wildcats' second-leading scorer behind forward Nae'Quan Tomlin (15), the guard did have a season-high eight attempts from the charity stripe. Johnson has been Kansas State's leading scorer (15.5) so far this season, converting 51.2 percent of his 10.3 field-goal attempts and 43.8 percent of his four three-point tries over four starts, and he should continue this prolific start Tuesday night against Nevada.

College basketball's opening week: Fun settings, epic upsets and more
Splashes three 3-pointers Johnson ended Monday's 93-59 win over UT Rio Grande Valley with 13 points (4-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes.
Impact The 6-foot-6 senior tied Markquis Nowell for a team high in made three-pointers during Monday's season opener. Johnson has been received a medical clearance ahead of the season after missing much of his last two campaigns with Florida due to a heart condition, so his ability to play a team high 26 minute is an encouraging sign for his availability moving forward. Johnson should continue to see significant usage against the Wildcats' first Power-5 opponent of the season this Friday against California.

Starts, plays 17 minutes Johnson (chest) logged eight points (3-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds and two steals across 17 minutes during Kansas State's exhibition win Tuesday versus Washburn.
Impact Johnson's latest effort potentially indicates how the Wildcats will use him across their 2022-23 season, which is a great sign considering he found himself in the starting five. Heart inflammation prevented Johnson from playing most of the past two seasons, but it appears he's received the proper clearance and is officially back. Johnson had been getting looked at as a first-round NBA Draft Pick prior to his health scare, and if he can get anywhere near the 14.1 ppg and 7.1 rpg he averaged with Florida in 2019-20, it would be an incredible comeback story for the 6-6 wing. He'd be not only a major asset for the Wildcats, but for fantasy managers as well.
