Impact Walton drained four from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points Monday. The senior guard had not scored and had only attempted four shots over the previous two games but topped 30 minutes for the first time since early November and was forced to step up his production with Texas Tech down to just six players. It was the fifth double-figure scoring output for Walton, who has started all 28 games this season while averaging 17.3 minutes and 4.9 points per contest.

Impact Walton and the entire Red Raiders team had to make up for the early ejection of leading scorer JT Toppin, and they did just that while pulling off a big road upset. While Walton's scoring average sits an nearly half of last year's mark, he contributed significantly here with his best total since the season opener. While it should get him some confidence back, it won't be enough to put Walton on the fantasy radar.

Impact Walton was never an elite fantasy option, but some improvement was expected by most heading into his fifth and final collegiate season. Unfortunately, not only is his playing time down, but his shooting percentages (overall and three-point) are each down more than eight percentage points. On the bright side, Walton has yet to miss a free throw all season, but it's little consolation given the overall production drop.

Impact Walton had a stretch of seven consecutive games started that began in late-January and coincided with the absence of freshman point guard Pop Isaacs due to an ankle injury. Walton's minutes immediately took a dive upon the return of Isaacs, and he was bumped from the starting five on Feb. 21. Since then, Walton logged three and two minutes in a pair of games before sitting out entirely Tuesday. He hasn't scored in any of the team's last five games and has just five combined points across six contests since Feb. 8. It appears he's no more than a depth option as the regular season winds down for Texas Tech.
