Injury revealed, DNP again Porter (knee) did not play during Pepperdine's game Sunday at Louisville.

Impact According to the West Coast Conference's website, Porter suffered a knee injury this past offseason. The injury explains why he has sat out all of Pepperdine's games played since November, including a matchup Sunday. Like before, Boubacar Coulibaly and Jalen Pitre are expected to continue benefiting from Porter's absence in the meantime.

Impact Porter is not suiting up for a second straight contest to open up the season and it remains unknown what's holding him out and when he could return. Aladji Gassama got the start at the five in Porter's place and could continue to see extended run so long as Porter remains out. His next chance to play will be Nov. 12 against Lafayette.

No official injury report has surfaced, making the circumstances surrounding his absence a bit mysterious. If he remains out Thursday against UC-Davis, look for Jalen Pitre and Aladji Gassama to potentially see more minutes.

Impact Porter caps his freshman season averaging 12.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game on 48.5-percent shooting from the field. The former four-star recruit has plenty of time to keep developing in hopes of following his brother Michael Porter Jr. to the NBA. For the immediate future, however, the Missouri native will look to help Pepperdine eventually become an NCAA Tournament team.
