BYU players get assist for freeing Wade from elevator

The BYU Cougars already have the biggest assist in the NCAA Tournament and they’ve yet to play their first game

Plays three minutes in return Wade (undisclosed) registered an assist and a rebound over three minutes Thursday versus Pepperdine.

Impact Wade's action marked his first since Dec. 1 and just his fifth appearance of the season. The junior reportedly had been away from the team for the past couple of weeks but has rejoined them and could supply some minutes off the bench moving forward.

Impact Wade had been nursing a knee injury since early November. Coach Mark Pope did not specify if this recent leave was for COVID reasons or for an injury. Wade is expected to be in uniform Thursday against Portland.
