Career-best performance Edwards produced 36 points (15-19 FG, 6-18 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 93-81 loss to TCU.

Impact It was the best scoring performance in the career of Edwards, who also posted 13 rebounds to post his sixth double-double of the season. Edwards scored an equal 18 points in each half with each of his 15 made shots coming from around the cylinder on layups and dunks. He could have challenged 40 points had his stroke from the charity stripe been a little cleaner as he shot just 33.3% from the line, missing 12 shots, far lower than the 55.9% mark he held coming into the game. Over the last two games, Edwards is averaging 27.0 points and 10.5 rebounds on 79.3% (23-for-29) shooting from the floor.

Edwards has played very well since returning to the starting lineup on Jan. 31 but was coming off a lackluster outing last weekend when he fouled out while shooting a season-worst 1-for-9 from the field. Impact Edwards made the most of his return to the starting lineup, putting up a monster 25/10 performance while adding a season-high four blocks on the defensive end. The senior center was playing in just his second game since missing nine due to a fractured wrist and put together his fourth double-double of the season. West Virginia has struggled this season, but has the makings of being a dangerous spoiler as Wednesday marked the first time the tandem of Edwards, RaeQuan Battle and Kerr Kriisa have appeared in the same starting lineup. In 11 games as a starter, Edwards is averaging 31.2 minutes per contest, scoring 15.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

Impact On a night that the shorthanded Mountaineers played only six players for more than 10 minutes, the transfer from Syracuse led West Virginia in playing time, finding himself on the court for all but three minutes on the night. Edwards' performance was in line with his numbers from last year with the Orange when he averaged 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. He'll look to continue that trend as he transitions from being one of the best big men in the ACC into becoming one of the top big men in the Big 12.

Depth is likely going to be an issue in the Mountaineer frontcourt after forward Akok Akok was stretchered off the court Friday and was left with an uncertain return timeline, so Edwards will presumably be given all the minutes he can handle at the five.
