Leads Spartans to OT win Fears provided 26 points (7-19 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 12-13 FT), three rebounds, 15 assists and one steal over 43 minutes during Saturday's 85-82 OT victory over Illinois.

Impact Fears has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons of late, and he was again accused of (but never whistled for) intentionally tripping an Illinois player late in the first half. He's now gone three games in a row with this type of incident, but coach Tom Izzo wasn't keen to answer questions about it post-game. Controversy aside, Fears' production has been on point. He had games of 29 and 31 points to close out January, and perhaps more impressively, has racked up 26 assists in the first two games of February. That brings his season-long average up to 9.1 apg, which is the top mark in the country ahead of Purdue's Braden Smith. Despite the antics, Fears appears well on his way to first-team all-Big Ten honors.

Double-double in loss Fears chipped in 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, 11 assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 76-73 loss to Minnesota.

Impact Fears' passing has been on another level as of late. He's averaging 8.9 assists on the season, and 11.0 over his last four games. The sophomore point guard has also been a scoring machine since the calendar flipped to 2026; he's averaging 18.7 points in that span. His 10 points against the Gophers were his lowest output since Dec. 20. The Spartans still suffered the upset loss against Minnesota, and Fears' quieter scoring night certainly contributed, but he's been on a tear as of late and remains an attractive fantasy option.
