Season-ending surgery Hyder was ruled out for the season in early-December after undergoing back surgery, Jeff Faraudo of Sports Illustrated reports.

Impact Hyder had yet to take the court this season, and when it was reported that a back injury was at fault back in early-December, it was unclear at the time that he had underwent season-ending surgery. With that being the case, and fellow guard Jalen Celestine (knee) also out for the year, the Cal squad's backcourt will be tested the rest of the way out.
