Impact This is devastating news for the senior who recently transferred to Texas A&M from Mississippi State this summer. Last year, Johnson averaged 5.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 24 appearances for the Bulldogs. Quenton Jackson and Hayden Hefner will now be the Aggies' options at the small-forward position for the 2021-22 season.

Falls out of rotation Johnson has seemingly lost his spot in the rotation and not played in either of the last two games, The Commercial Dispatch reports.

Impact Johnson had started 10 games this season as well and was averaging 6.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 three-pointers in 19.2 minutes per game. It's not clear if Johnson is just in the doghouse or if the coaching staff prefers Derek Fountain in the wing rotation instead.

The Bulldogs have a pair of near-seven-footers in Tolu Smith and Abdul Ado to hog the boards, while Johnson has done most of his work on the perimeter, converting a career-best 40.5 percent from beyond the arc this season.
