Jalen Haynes - College Basketball News & Rumors

Hasn't returned yet Haynes is still not back on the court as he works back from a knee injury, with Dayton coach Anthony Grant saying Wednesday that the forward is expected to undergo a test next week...

Impact Haynes missed the entire 2025-26 season due to a knee injury, so this indicates he still has not been cleared for full on-court work entering 2026-27. His status remains unsettled until the results of next week's test are known, but it wouldn't be surprising if he isn't ready for the season opener in early November.

SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE

Commits to Dayton Haynes (knee) committed to Dayton on Thursday, Joe Tipton of On3.com reports.

Impact Haynes will look to start fresh with the Flyers after missing the entire 2025-26 season with a knee injury. Prior to the injury, he was a double-digit scorer in back-to-back campaigns and will look to provide some scoring production in his new threads.

APRIL 16 • ROTOWIRE

Enters transfer portal Haynes (knee) has decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, The Front Office News reports.

Impact Haynes will look for greener pastures after playing one season with George Mason. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 36 starts during the 2025-26 campaign.

APRIL 16 • ROTOWIRE

Out for season Head coach Wes Miller revealed that Haynes (knee) is out for the rest of the season, per Neil Meyer of The Front Office News.

Impact As Haynes had yet to appear in a game for the Bearcats this season, this news doesn't exactly come out of nowhere. The 6-foot-8 senior was reported to have suffered a knee injury in October and appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery. With no remaining eligibility, it remains to be seen whether Haynes will explore the option of a medical redshirt.

FEBRUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE

No timetable to return Haynes (knee) will not play in Wednesday's game against Baylor and still has no timetable for his return, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Haynes has yet to play this season as he continues recovering from a lower body injury, which is now being listed as a knee injury, Russell Heltman of SI.com reports. The senior forward's next chance to suit up would be in Saturday's meeting with Houston.

JANUARY 28 • ROTOWIRE

Doesn't play Monday Haynes (lower body) didn't play in Monday's 89-62 victory over Lipscomb.

Impact Haynes is dealing with a lower-body injury that prevented him from suiting up Monday. Having him available wouldn't have changed things, though, as he's yet to play at all this season. His next chance to play will come against Houston on Saturday.

DECEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Questionable Monday Haynes (lower body) may be able to make his return to action on Monday against Lipscomb, per CBSSports.com.

Impact Haynes has missed the entirety of the 2025 season thus far after undergoing surgery in late October, but could make his return before the new year. The 6-foot-8 senior joined the Bearcats in the off-season after transferring in from George Mason, where he averaged 14.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game across 36 contests. If he is unable to suit up on Monday, he will have to wait until Saturday against Houston for his next chance to return.

DECEMBER 28, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Out indefinitely Haynes (lower body) is out indefinitely following knee surgery, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Haynes was already reported to have undergone a procedure on his knee, and this doesn't exactly clarify anything except that the forward has no timeframe for a potential return. Haynes was expected to be a factor in the Bearcats' rotation this season after averaging 14.1 points and 6.9 rebounds with George Mason in 2024-2025.

OCTOBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Undergoes surgery Haynes (lower body) recently underwent surgery, according to Neil Meyer of The Front Office News.

Impact "Haynes had a procedure. I don't have an update on his timetable, but it won't be soon," Cincinnati's head coach Wes Miller recently said. "We have hope he (Haynes) can return this season. I don't have an exact timetable as of right now." Miller indicates that Haynes may use a redshirt, and until further notice, his injury status will remain out indefinitely.

OCTOBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Out indefinitely Haynes (lower body) is out indefinitely, per Neil Meyer of Front Office News.

Impact This is a big blow to the Bearcats' front court. The George Mason transfer is coming off an excellent junior season in which he averaged 14.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 55 percent from the field. Haynes was expected to compete for a starting role in Cincinnati's front court in 2025-2026, but he's now out for an extended period of time and little is known about his undisclosed lower body ailment. This will put more onus on Baba Miller and Moustapha Thiam down low for the Bearcats.

OCTOBER 14, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Commits to Cincinnati Haynes will transfer to Cincinnati, Keegan Nickoson of BearcatJournal.com reports.

Impact Haynes will join the Bearcats after a strong season with George Mason, where he averaged 14.1 points and 6.9 rebounds over 25.6 minutes in 36 starts. Cincinnati will mark Haynes' fourth collegiate program.

APRIL 12, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Looks to capitalize on big year Haynes will enter the transfer portal, per VerbalCommits.com.

Impact Haynes averaged 14.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 2024-2025 with George Mason following a redshirt 2023-2024 campaign. It's safe to say he didn't miss a beat, and he'll now look for a high-major program willing to gamble on the 6-foot-8 forward's upside.
