Impact Toombs was one of two players who scored in double digits for SMU in this loss, with Jaron Pierre (17 points) being the other. Toombs scored in double digits in 10 different games this season, but he wasn't a very reliable fantasy contributor due to his lack of consistency. It remains to be seen if SMU will be selected for the NCAA Tournament, but if they do, Toombs should play a big role in the rotation again.

Impact Toombs missed the first 10 games of the season with a wrist injury, and his usage had been highly inconsistent even after getting cleared, serving essentially as the backup center to Samet Yigitoglu. Coach Andy Enfield switched things up Saturday and gave Toombs his first start of the season, and the freshman paid it back with career highs in scoring and rebounding against a tough Duke frontline. It still wasn't enough to knock off one of the top teams in the country on their home court, but Toombs more than showed he can take advantage of an expanded role when given the opportunity. It's unclear if Enfield will use the same lineup Wednesday against Virginia Tech, however.
